The other day I posted about our recent trip to the Dakota Memorial Dog Park. On this day I hung up a flyer and some business cards promoting PDX Puggles on the information kiosk available. Today, I was saddened to find an email in my inbox that my "co-founder" had forwarded to me in response to that flyer. It is from Mark Heiny, a Board Member for DOGPAW (the company that runs all of this area's dog parks). It says: We have noticed advertisements for your meet-up (PDX Puggles) on the kiosks at the Dakota Park. DOGPAW constructs and maintains... Continue reading

I received an email from Byron over at SnugglePuggles about a Puggle Puppy that is up for re-homing. The email: I had a family contact me who adopted a Puggle from another breeder as a surprise for his wife. She really had her heart set on another larger breed so they are looking to re-home their Puggle since the breeder won't take her back. She asked if I could help her find a good home because she's a great puppy and they don't want to take her to the pound. I will be getting pictures of her in the next... Continue reading

On January 28th, I was visiting the Dakota Memorial Dog Park with my friends, Annabelle and Puggly. About 45 minutes into our play-date I was bitten on the snout. Mommy was very scared at hearing my whimpers and seeing the blood gush out of my nose. With the help of Annabelle and her Mom, my Mommy rushed me to the Vet. The Dr. said one of my wounds was just superficial but the other, on my cheek, was a puncture. They flushed it out but said it did not appear to need stitches. The biggest surprise was seeing the perfect... Continue reading

So, I signed up for Tumblr to see what all the hype was about. What I found was that I love it! It is so easy to use and is a great service for the micro-blogging platform. Sometimes I come across lots of little pictures, or clippings of things I want to share with my furiends but because it would normally take so much effort I usually don't. From the website: Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything. Post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos, from your browser, phone, desktop, email, or wherever you happen to be. So this is... Continue reading

"Dogs are my favorite role models. I want to work like a dog, doing what I was born to do with joy and purpose. I want to play like a dog, with total, jolly abandon. I want to love like a dog, with unabashed devotion and complete lack of concern about what people do for a living, how much money they have, or how much they weigh. The fact that we still live with dogs, even when we don't have to herd or hunt our dinner, gives me hope for humans and canines alike." - Oprah Winfrey Continue reading

This News story is from Bend, Oregon. If anyone has any information that can help identify the disgusting "person" (term used lightly) that did this, please call the sheriff's office or the Humane Society of Central Oregon. I can't even put my feelings into words about this disgusting crime against this puppy. A small dog found tied up inside a plastic garbage bag has been adopted and will be going to its new home Tuesday. Last week, a motorist pulled off Deschutes Market Road northeast of Bend to use her cell phone. She saw movement coming from a white trash... Continue reading

Mommy and I had a wonderfully exhausting day! First we went and saw Dr. Joe, my surgeon, and while we waited for Dr. Joe a very nice lady in the waiting room told Mommy we should check out the Animal Enrichment Center for my training needs. We realized it was on our way home so we stopped there. Mommy talked for a long time- so long that I piddled on the floor- to a very nice lady named April. They talked about all my bad behaviors, my training needs, and then Mommy went shopping in their retail store. Mommy and... Continue reading

Mommy took me to have a check-up with Dr. Joe (my surgeon) today. He is really happy about how good my eye looks! Said I have no ear issueseither. He told Mommy she should consider keeping my e-collar on at night when we are asleep because she can not be there to monitor me. We all would HATE to go backwards in the healing process. Mommy is a collar junkie so Preston has a growing collection of collars. It is hard to believe how tiny Preston’s first collar is. It only lasted 3 weeks. More puppy collars… For going to the dog park and swimming, Preston needs a rugged and waterproof collar. He wears his Dublin Dog collar. Each of his collars has its own ID tag. FYI: Mommy likes to order Preston’s collars from The Mod Dog. The Mod Dog offers a wide selection of custom-made collars at great prices and excellent quality. The pawprint ID tags are made by www.pawprintpettags.com. via www.prestonthepuggle.com Continue reading

A note from Annabelle Puggle... Tonight we found a frozen little female Pug in the snow who was lost! We brought her home and warmed her up, put a poster up near our home, and put an add on Craigslist. So far nobody has attempted to claim the sweet little dog. I think that she is very old, Mommy and Daddy are worried about her. She looks like she has arthritis, she is very skinny, very dirty, the top of her paws are pink, and she cannot eat very well because her tongue is too big for her mouth. She... Continue reading

I would like to wish a Happy New Year to all my special anipals and their people! My resolutions are: 1) getting this damn satellite dish off my head, for good! 2) stop biting Mommy and Little Brother. 3) pay real good attention in school so I can get some smarts. 4) not dig no more holes under grandma's fence. 5) ...be nice to the kittehs. (maybe) I am curious what all your New Year Resolutions are? And my final thought for the night before I curl up on the couch to watch the celebration is: Good-bye 2009 and Good... Continue reading

I thought I did enough research. I spent months on the internet. Hours upon hours calling different breeders. Countless phone calls to the one I chose. But it wasn't enough. I know now it was a mistake. Not one I regret, but a mistake all the same. What kind of life would Kepa be living if it wasn't me who fell in love with her though? Would someone else be willing to spend their measly unemployment checks at the vet or would they dump her at the pound once she was deemed "defective." I am glad she is in our... Continue reading
