The fellow running Man Bites Dog recommended I either try The Brat or The Abe Froman. Despite being German, I am not a fan of saurekraut and chose to eat the Abe Froman instead. The menu describes it as "Our Chicago-inspired dog featuring a Vienna beef frank with yelow mustard, diced onions, sweet pickle relish, tomatoes, a dill pickle spear & celery salt." In Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ferris pretends to be Abe Froman, the Sausage King of Chicago, in order to eat at a fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the tangy confluence of relish and pickle. The hot dog I... Continue reading

When I asked my particular hardware toting friend to drill a small 1/4 inch hole in this soda pop top he gave me a look, but complied nonetheless. Following the tutorial Photojojo's book I have my own bottle cap tripod. I carry it in my wallet and pull it out whenever I need to take a steady picture. I took the bottom picture at the bottom of this post with my trusty tripod. This tripod is cheap and easy to carry around. Continue reading

Today, while filling out job applications, I was struck by the question concerning gender. 1 in 2000 births are born intersexed which means they have ambiguous genitals. They are neither a boy nor a girl; they are both. That's the same ratio of people who are born with red hair. I've seen a lot of redheads. Why can't we leave that question blank to allow people to write in how they self-identify? Continue reading
