Blink! July just disappeared. This month started off in Florida watching the last launch of NASA's space shuttle program - STS-135 Atlantis. WOW is the only word that kinda summarizes but in no way does it justice. We woke up super early to stake our claim for the viewing. We scored a covered picnic table with seating. After 5+ hours of waiting with 2M of our new friends, Atlantis rocketed into space for the last time. After a quick trip to Universal Studios and Busch Gardens, we headed back home for some serious remodeling of the Studio. Jim sanded the... Continue reading

Between the studio preps, photo shoots, work, and family, I have been swamped. One of my "to dos" for the studio is printing coffee table books for samples. Most will be of clients, but I also wanted samples for classes that will start this fall. Sneak Peek of the scrapbook from our trip to Florida to visit my sister and her family. Enjoy! Credits to my FAV designers - Ali Edwards for her font, brushwork, and template, Shabby Miss Jenn Summer Girl Paper Pack, Tiffany Tillman for her amazing classes and templates, Scrap Girls for their continuous inspriration and Zoomba... We are in the throws of making a BIG OLE mess on the top tier of our back yard so we can start building the mini playground for the GBs. Since I am waiting for it to warm up a bit before we start the final movement of 10 yards of dirt, I am processing pics from a photoshoot last weekend. Another sneek peak for mom. Pictures of the yard project will have to wait until after the project is complete. It will be AMAZING. Gonna throw a ribbon cutting ceremony for the kiddos when it is ready. Continue reading

Welcome! I finally had the opportunity to shoot pictures of a newborn baby girl. I love little boys, but there is just something sweet about tutus and ruffle diaper covers. Thanks D and N for letting me share the special event. Special thanks to Auntie who hand knit two of the hats. Her amazing work added to the uniqueness of the photoshoot. My favorite pics below. I am now power knitting several sets of too cute girl outfits. Enjoy! Thanks for dropping by! Continue reading

One of the greatest joys in my life is my extended family. Jim and I had a play day with GBs 1, 2, and 3. We had super fun and by the end of several hours were totally wiped. They have so much energy and are little sponges when it comes to learning. First up was a trip to the park. GB3 took off running like a rocket. Thank goodness GBs 1 and 2 were there to catch up. Nona and Papaw were close to peeing our pants. We had such BIG FUN that we can not wait for the... Continue reading

After a crazy week at work, I parked myself infront of my computer to catch up on some photo processing to warm my heart on a cold Northwest day. With all the professional shoots, I have fallen behind in my family processing. I guess at this point "behind" is relative. The family is growing quickly and growing up. With cameras poised at all times, I have captured the incredible journey. I just hope that after I am long gone the nieces/nephews and grandbabies understand how much they enriched my life. Jim and I went to visit my sissy and her... Continue reading

Well okay. It was really the non-ski ski vacation. Oddly it rained everyday we wanted to ski. The chalet was full of family from far away and our home town. We shared a 24 hour stomach virus and watched the kids of all ages play with one form of an electronic gadget or another. In spite of the things we did not plan for, everyone had fun. Eva was totally smitten with Justin, Kaci giggled the entire week, Emma was sporting a new haircut, Jim had his cyst removed, Donna and PJ killed serious CR, family viewing of "The Shining,"... Wowzer. This holiday season was a whirlwind. I am usually prepared months in advance and enjoy the craziness of it all. Not so much this year. With travel and work, I fell way behind. While drinking my morning coffee, I am actually relieved that it is over. I am enjoying having absolutely no commitments today and spending a little time catching up on our December 2010 album and Project 365. A few of our holiday pics to share below. Picture of this year's National Christmas Tree in our Nation's capital. I missed GB1's first Christmas Pageant. Papaw was there to... Continue reading

Nona and Papaw were blessed this last weekend to get serious GB time. One of our play days was filled with park time, Burger King, and oogling Papaw's new motorcycle. My fav pics from our play day below. First Stop on our play day was Burger King. This really translates to down time for the grown ups as the short people tear up the jungle gym. But hey, who's tellin? When we got to our house, both GB1 and GB2 were facinated with the rakes that were staged for the upcoming leaf attack that was upon the grownups. Never fear,... What an amazing play day. Nona and Papaw helped out Grandma in taking care of grandbabies on Saturday. It was an event filled day starting at the Country Mercantile and ending with a lazy afternoon along the Columbia River. We played, and played, and played, and played....... By the end of the day, we were exhausted, but the kids were like the energizer bunny. A few highlights below. Enjoy. Continue reading

My last post was way too long ago! I have been super busy with travel, public meetings, and my day-to-day. I finally had an evening to sit at my computer and process a few of my summer pics. A few highlights from my amazing trip to the UK below. The Cumbrian region is AMAZING. The people are by far some of the most gracious folks I have ever met. They constantly reminded me (without words) that I am blessed and life is good. Their outlook towards the day to day was inspiring. The highlights below are just a few of... Continue reading

I know, I know. I have become one of those bloggers that never posts. I have a million excuses, none of which are worthy of an apology. FAMILY keeps me hopping. When I am not bouncing a mile a minute with stepchildren, grandchildren, mother, siblings, nieces and nephews, I am working. I am blessed to have a healthy bustling family so I would prefer to live life instead of posting about happenings. Summer is almost over. Jim and I carved out time for a long overdue play day with GB1 and GB2 this past weekend. A few highlights photos from... Continue reading

What a cutie! I am so fortunate to have loads of children in my immediate family. Not only does it add a richness to my life that I never expected, it provides me endless opportunities to push my photography to the limit. I have so many ideas running around in my head for the holidays. Creating Hallmark moments - Giesa style. GB3 turned one. His first photo shoot with Nona was a hoot. He was quite the trooper with the props and displayed the cutest little snarl. A few of my favorite pictures below. Continue reading

Howdy All. Long time no post. I have been so darn busy at work, trying to keep up with the ever growing family, and taking pictures for clients. I am so far behind in posting Project 365 posts and other random shares. Rest assured - LIFE IS GOOD, I AM BLESSED. My sweetie surprised me with a new scooter for our anniversary, GB 3 started walking, GB 1 is active in soccer and let me know yesterday - "I know how to swim", GB2 got to roll with Nona on an official play day, GB4 is growing like a weed... Blog oh Blog - I have not forsaken you!!!! I have been super busy with my day job, grandbabies, and photo clients, that I have not had time to indulge in my passion. Luckily, me and the creative team from Boxer Studios made a break from our shooting engagements and ventured on a fun filled, love of photography and friends weekend on the island of San Juan. My gal pals are such an inspiration in my personal and professional life (shout out to Tracey and Sandy). This is the first of a series of posts where I share our amazing... Continue reading

Zena has surgery tomorrow to repair her other ACL. Jim and I will be fretting from the minute I drop her off in Pullman today until she is safely back in the pack Friday. She needs doggie prayers from all her human admirers. Picture of Zena in her party dress from last week below. After I stopped laughing (legs crossed so I didn't pee my pants), I was able to snap this pic. We [heart] u zena. Continue reading

After a four day weekend, all I have to say is I LOVE MY FAMILY. For the most part they never care about me, my job or anything that is important to me day to day. What they totally miss is that I adore being with them and enjoy the little moments that make up our existence. The pic below captures an awesome shot of my step daughter (GREAT MOM) and her family. Her dream has always been to be a stay at home mom and she is three boys in and still counting. I get to snap from the... Continue reading

What an awesome weekend. Four glorious days off. I have been power knitting and crocheting getting ready for photoshoot number 2 of Master William. Sneak Peek at the outfits for this weekend. Too darn cute. The first prop is a pea cap. I made a matching cocoon. Pattern is mine and took less than 2 hours to make. I completed the soaker bottoms to go with the stocking cap I used last weekend. The hat pattern is mine. Soaker bottom patter was downloaded from the internet here http://www.borntolove.com/pattern.html. The other two props will be a surprise. I need give full... Continue reading

The end of a very productive weekend. I worked on photo prop projects for infant photo shoots, sewed Master William's baby quilt and and took some amazing photos of GB4 (thank you Sandy for all your help). We have a short week this weekend and then four glorious days off. A couple of sneak peek photos of the photoshoot below. I will post pics of all my projects soon! I was not sure how the photo prop was going to work out. I made the hat in the photo below out of 100% cotton yarn I scored on my trip... Continue reading

Not much time to blog the past few weeks. I have been powering through my outstanding projects to make room for another plate load. In the meantime I did want to carve out time to post weekend pics of Master William. Hard to believe that in 5 short years our family has grown to be so blessed with short people. A couple of my favorite pics from this weekend attached. Much more to follow SOON! N5 Continue reading
