The second effect was that I grew a third leg each night while on the DHEA/DIM. At least that is what it felt like. This was not a normal blood circulating into organ phenomenon, but more of an electronically induced fuel pump -amplified third leg that did not relax immediately upon rising. With the results from the Sherzer et al. study indicating that PGC-1 alpha plays a role in autoimmune disorders such as Parkinson’s, a possible association between PGC-1 alpha and other neurological disorders such as ALS and neurological Lyme disease will create new scientific avenues worth exploring in the sequencing of the onset and development of those diseases. Although Toyo Shinyaku is identified as the funder for this Stanford study, the sweeping generalizations contained in Stafford’s work and the selection of a pine bark extract low in OPCs suggests the presence of an invisible hand behind the funding. Speculation that a US pharmaceutical manufacturer or a US pharmaceutical trade/advocacy group had a hand in persuading Toyo Shinyaku to undertake this study is not conspiratorial nor unreasonable.
