Hi Pat - thanks for reading my poor neglected blog! I didnt make the quilt, I just quilted it. But I am friends with the person who did make it, so I will find out. It is a really pretty quilt, especially with the batiks she used. Ill get back to you on it. Pam

I didn't know about Pain & Panic, I will have to look them up! I thought maybe they were her good & bad consciences, but I guess not! Makes me really want to study some history. xoxo love you

If you have been to France, you know what I'm talking about. The butter is amazing. On our first full day, we had big plans for sightseeing, but first stop was le petit dejuener. (Breakfast.) We stopped at a cute little cafe and ordered coffee & croissants. Here's what we... Continue reading

On April 12, my daughter Libby and I got on a plane, and headed East to FRANCE. I know, can you believe it?? Really, for me the trip of a life time. I have hardly traveled in the US, a few times to Mexico and Canada but that's it. So,... Continue reading

Hi Margo, thanks so much for your comment. Just when I think I am not going to blog any more, I get a nice comment like yours, and then I see that people are looking at my stuff. :) I have a lot more quilts to post pictures of, I do one or two customer quilts a week. Do you live in the Northwest? Just wondering if you know Sara. She is republishing some of her books thru C T publishing with Marci, always staying busy with the 60 degree triangle. Love my A-1 machine. Happy Quilting, Pam

After taking the summer off from machine quilting, I am back at it and busier than ever! I keep trying to set aside some time to work on my own quilts, but for now it's customer quilts. I did get my machine worked on this summer, and had the entire... Continue reading

Hi There, I'm going to act like I have been here all along.... no explanations for my 8 or 9 month hiatus. If I start thinking about trying to go back and catch up, and tell you all everything that has been going on since the last time I wrote,... Continue reading

I haven't forgotten about my blog, but just haven't felt like writing, and always say I am too busy - yeah, too busy catching up on Orphan Black. Holy cow, that is one crazy TV series. Too intense to sew while watching. Well anyway, what's new with me? Quite a... Continue reading

Nothing like a big scary spider to get your blood pumping and motivation flowing. I hate to think about what might be under my bed! Last summer we had both our upstairs bathrooms remodeled, and I did some of the work myself to save money. When the contractor left, the last thing to do was paint the new trim and door and guess what... still not done. will probably take about a day to get it all done. I think I'll get out the paint & brush tonight, mark a day on the calendar and just do it! Thanks for the motivation.

Well, so much for my lofty goals and drivel about getting things done! Maybe it's just that February is too dang short! I finished my February goal for ALYoF, but not until March 3, or I guess you could technically call that February 31st. Turtles are done, quilted, bound and... Continue reading

I love turtles! Maybe because I can relate... I have been known to be pretty slow in getting things done. So A Lovely Year of Finishes is my goal setting plan to get some of my quilts done this year. There's somthing about setting a specific goal with a deadline... Continue reading

My January goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes was to sew down the facing on my Boston Commons quilt. Done!! It still needs to be pressed, blocked, get a label and hanging sleeve on it (for the quilt show in March) but for all intents and purposes - it's... Continue reading

thanks Jane! the quilt is 62 x 82, and each piece is made from a 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 rectangle that is cut into two pieces on a 60 degree angle. I really like using Glide thread. it is polyester, but has that nice sheen. my machine loves it too. :) Pam

My friend Sara Nephew loves 60 degree triangles, and is always creating new quilt patterns for her friends to test. This pattern looked so interesting, I volunteered to try it. Here's the finished quilt: All Sara's patterns are made using a 60 degree triangle ruler. Here's a close up: Not... Continue reading

Starting something new for this year... finishing stuff! For 2013, my sister participated in "A Lovely Year of Finishes". You set one goal a month, then report when you finish that goal (in the same month.) I am hopefully not going to be one of those that starts out in... Continue reading

OK. I am not writing about this to be snarky or bitchy, or to criticize anyone's taste in quilts - just telling you the way it happened. I have a LinkedIn page from when I used to be an accountant, now updated for quilting. An accounting person was looking at... Continue reading

Congratulation on getting your blog featured on typepad. I plan to spend more time reading about your fabric designing business, and am going to look for your fabric at my local quilt shop! Good job on your hike. I will try not to stack up today. good advice for when I get mired down in a project. :)

My local quilt guild - Quilter's Anonymous (not a recovery group, for sure!) had it's annual show last month. It's a non-juried show, anyone who is a member of the guild and puts in at least 4 hours of volunteer time each year can enter their quilts. We had over... Continue reading
