oh my goodness - these paintings are gorgeous! i thought they were photographs at first glance, too.
Carly Waito
It's gemstone day around here today! First up, I just had to share these stunning pieces by Carly Waito. They totally stopped me in my tracks because no, they're not giant hunks of rock- they're little oil paintings! (of giant hunks of rock) And they're fantastic, hmm? I think she capt...
you have an original amanda blake! i had to be good and save my pennies, but someday i hope to have one of her pieces as my very own.
little winter was so beautiful, and you have some wonderful goodies there!
Little Winter Scores!
{the sweet Anabela & Geoff from Fieldguided} Little Winter this past weekend was a big success! It looked gorgeous and was crowded the whole time I was there, which means hopefully everybody sold a lot. I was a bad blogger and only took a couple pics (lots of other people took good ones tho-...

Prints Galore!
Oh dear. I just wrote loads then managed to accidentally delete it! Basically, I've spent all day writing, printing, cutting and listing new ACEO prints, on some lovely, smooth, archival paper. Soon, I'll be trying out Epson's Archival Matte paper, too, as it has such brilliant reviews. Oh I hav...
you said it perfectly!
i, too, get so excited when i see a visitor from another country. yesterday i had hits from amsterdam and moscow! moscow? that is cool.
i'm in portland, or. recently, the google analytics has been putting me in salem, or. don't know why.
i just moved to portland from philadelphia in august; my husband is attending law school here. we have both completely fallen in love with portland and its artsy, crafty, food-loving communities. and we probably will stay on after he graduates, much to the chagrin of our families back east. but, that is what happens to us wanderers, right? we travel and travel, and always say: 'i love this place. i could see myself living here.' and, for me, it actually happened. i have found the place where i'm meant to be.
have you ever been to portland? i think you might fall in love, too. :)
thinks on :: imaginary travels and you
i know its not what one is meant to use their google analytics account for. i should be learning how to interpret the mounds of information, graphs, stats, pie charts and referrals in this parallel universe i signed up for. but whenever i enter this googley matrix i am inevitably dazzled by th...
chicken noodle soup for sure! and lots of hot tea with honey always makes me feel better. i hope *you* feel better soon!
i've been on a peanut butter kick lately, and just had some on a tortilla/wrap (from tj's!) for breakfast.
taste this : pancakes + peanut butter
he was in the late stages of a mancold and i was at the end of day three acknowledging i had caught it from him. we needed comfort and buttermilk pancakes for dinner fit the bill. he likes his classic style, just butter and maple syrup on top. i learned in childhood to enjoy mine with creamy p...
congrats on the etsy sales! it is quite an accomplishment. :)
your new pieces are lovely. i especially love the expression on the little kitchen miss. she looks so lovely and sweet.
i've been on the job hunt here and there myself. i just moved to a new city, so that my husband can continue his education. and nothing in the job market here is available. it would be nice to have a little extra money right now, but i have to say it's nice to have this time to paint and create.

Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise - Alice Walker
I am consistently surprised when people buy from my little Etsy shop. Today, we broke the 150 sales barrier. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it makes me just that little bit happier! It seems strange and wonderful when people comment on my work, saying they like the expression on the face...
i love their style! actually, they are one of the only celebrities where i consistently like what they're wearing. i love how they just look so effortlessly princess-y and shabby at the same time. yeah?
on another note, i just watched the weeds episodes with mary-kate, and she was fabulous!

Olsen Love
Thought I'd share some scans I have of the ever beloved Olsens. {scans are from W Magazine and Marie Claire}

you're inspiring me to use the 'ol sewing machine for more than just hemming drapes! :)
Star Dress (or, In Which I Finally Stop Being Afraid to Sew a Darn Dress)
I have really wanted a dress printed with little stars for the past few years. It's one of those things that got into my mind, and though I've searched and searched, I still haven't found one I like. I recently created a pattern from a simple 40's house/day dress that fits well, and I've been ju...
hi, i've really been enjoying your summer color photos this week. i think blue and orange are buddies, too!
your blog is such a lovely place to visit. what an inspiration you are!
poppytalk's week of summer color : blue friday with a splash of orange, hup hup
The summer color this week is blue but I decided to throw in a little orange to get me in the mood for the "big" game today. I think orange and blue are really best friends anyway. Again all these pictures are taken from my iphoto archives and reflect things I have made, seen or places I have be...
happy birthday megan!!
26
I hope to welcome in age 26 with a hair day as good as this! But seriously. I turn 26 today and I'm happy about it. Some people complain about getting older or define the specific age they are as suddenly "old". I don't really get that. It's all life, dudes. It's all part of the journey ...
wow! they are like the clouds at the beginning of the neverending story! remember that movie? :) gorgeous photos!
What The - CLOUDS
This evening at around 9pm, it was still a bit light out and Evan and I both noticed that the color of light coming in through the windows was strange. Very yellow. Very different than we've ever seen before. We went outside and had a huge surprise waiting for us... I decided not to edit t...

Birthday presents!
Hello! My birthday weekend was brilliant! I had a Karaoke night with old and new friends, all-you-can-eat Chinese food with my Mum, her partner, my uncle, Scott and our kids, a cinema trip with Mum and a barbeque on the roof with Scott's side of the family + lots of laughs and a pile of lovely ...
