I'm 29! 29 Things I've Learned & Observed So Far
Awhile ago, I wrote about the lessons this year has taught me. As I entered my 30th year of life on Sunday, June 9th, it felt right to think about and share some of the stuff I’ve learned in life so far, in no particular order. These are probs nothing groundbreaking to most people. Many are...

Back in Blogland: Change Is Good!
CHANGE. It’s hard for most people, and historically, it’s been especially hard for me. But it’s also the only way we move forward, and I’m slowly learning that good things do often follow that nervous, unsettled, what’s-going-to-happen-next feeling. The reassurance I’ve gotten in the past few ...

Hayley - great question! Because I'm on the second floor of an apartment building, I didn't worry at all about what the shade looks like from the back. It's not really a pretty sight! If I were going to do this in a kitchen, like you mentioned, I might try using a thin fabric on the back to cover the edges of the folded fabric.
Janet - Another good question! I didn't have any trouble with the problem you mentioned...is the fabric heavy? Or perhaps it's pulled too tight across the shade?
A Dose of DIY: Roller Shade Upgrade (No Sew!)
Alas, custom window coverings seem to be one of those things which are never very cheap. I've had the same tired single panel curtains held up by tension rods for several years now, and with my change in bedroom paint color (photos soon!), it was about time to give the old curtains the heave-ho...
Hi DPL! I think I definitely would do MUCH thinner coats than I did. If the shoes had been lighter then I also would've tried this with actual leather paint - because they started out red, I wanted to make sure I used something that would really cover. I would totally do this again, but It definitely depends on the type of shoe. The loafers, for example, crease a lot when walking and require a lot of flexibility...a shoe like a strappy heel sounds like it would fare much better. I'm so glad you tried this!
DIY Gone Awry! Spray-Painting Shoes
This is a post about a DIY d'oh! Sometimes, projects just don't go the way you want them to, no matter how hard you try to make them work. In the spirit of making it clear that everything in my life most certainly is not pretty and shiny (you should see the state of my bedroom most of the time!...
