Mother, Wife and Believer in Jesus Christ!
Interests: There is nothing better than sitting on a porch on a warm summer night in a really great chair or swing, eating good food, and reading a great book, or better yet talking and laughing with people you love. To me that is Heaven! I love to travel and see how the world lives. I love meeting new people and hearing their story. Everyone has a great story! I love being with my family. I love to laugh really really hard. You know...the kind of laugh where you can't breathe. I love talking in an accent when I make dinner for my family. I always start out with a British accent, but quickly move over to an Italian accent and end up with a Hispanic accent with a touch of Irish. My kids act bothered, but I can always make them laugh in the end. I really love good food and cute aprons. I have many memories of my mother and grandmother in an apron making delicious food. Food=happiness! I love embarrassing and awkward moments. They give you something to laugh and talk about for the rest of your life! I love being a mother. I can't think of anything else I would want to do. I get to raise all these wonderful people to love and serve God and do remarkable things. What a great job! I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Knowing where I came from, who I am, why I am here and where I am going, gives me confidence, gives me peace and makes me happy. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I love everything it has to offer me and others. I am so blessed to have the knowledge of a loving Father in Heaven who hears and answers my prayers. A Savior that sacrificed so much to show me the way and provide the Gift of the Atonement so that I can return home with my family and friends. The knowledge that a young boy named Joseph Smith questioned what church he should join and asked his Heavenly Father in faith and saw a vision of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ and because of that miraculous vision, he helped restore the Gospel on the earth again and translate the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Jesus Christ. The scriptures help me to hear my Heavenly Father's voice. I love reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon, which is another Testament of Jesus Christ visiting the people in the America's after he was crucified and resurrected. I love that there is a living prophet on the earth today who still speaks to God and helps guide and direct our lives just like the ancient prophets in the Bible. I love quiet moments...because they rarely happen! I am blessed...

I struggle with Hanging On to things that I should probably Let Go of. I’m not sure whether this is my personality or my gender…or both. I am amazed that my husband can just move forward no matter the situation or circumstance. Every day we are faced with the challenge... Continue reading

I get many phone calls this time of year from overwhelmed friends and loved ones that sometimes echo my own inner most feelings about the To Do’s of the Christmas Season. How do you stay focused and choose to do the most important and the most meaningful things during the... Continue reading

I’m sitting in a pile of laundry right now…well, make that multiple piles of laundry. With 8 people living in this place you can imagine the GIANT pile stacked before me. But to say that it’s a GIANT pile really doesn’t do it justice. This is not my favorite assignment... Continue reading

We all go through highs and lows. Life is ever-changing and just when you think you have a handle on things, something shifts and you find yourself having to make adjustments…such is life! Sometimes though, the lows seem to linger and we get stuck in a rut. I found myself... Continue reading

This single word Mother... means a great deal to all of us. No matter what our situations or circumstances, we all have one thing in common…we all have a mother. Most would agree that being a mother is the hardest job on the planet. Whether you have one child or... Continue reading

I took a little break from the blog. In all honesty I have struggled to write anything for a couple of weeks now. I took a trip to Brazil to plant trees in the Amazon and after spending a few weeks away in the rain forest, I struggled to get... Continue reading

Every mother knows what it’s like to hear tiny footsteps coming down the hall in the middle of the night and within seconds get startled when they see two eyes staring at them through the darkness of the night. “I had a bad dream,” they will usually say and then... Continue reading

This past week I received multiple phone calls from friends and loved ones who needed to be talked away from the edge of the cliff. Many of you are familiar with that edge. At one time or another we have all made our way up the mountain of expectations as... Continue reading

What kind of stories do you tell about your childhood? Summertime was the best and greatest time to be alive! I can remember waking up and after doing a few chores for my mom I began to hunt for every quarter in the house, I absolutely love quarters and I... Continue reading

I grew up in a simpler time. A time when phones had cords on them that required you to stay in a limited area as you carried on your conversations. Televisions were large, cube-like boxes that had only 13 stations and changing the channel meant you had to get up... Continue reading

In the past I have asked the question, “Why me?” When challenges have come or trials seem to linger longer than expected I have to admit I haven’t always understood why. We all know something about struggle. Most of us would be able to tell story after story of difficulties... Continue reading

Snowed in…One of my dreams is to be totally snowed in. My wish came true this past week. We had some major storms move through the east and it caused some harsh conditions, and as a result, everything shut down…including the schools. You remember how it was to get an... Continue reading

When we hear this phrase, most of us think of the people living around us. With the exception of some living out in the middle of nowhere, most of us have neighbors. Some of those neighbors are lovable, and some of those neighbors…not so lovable. When my husband and I... Continue reading

About this time every one is looking forward instead of back. It is the time of year when we begin to think of things we can change, improvements we can make in our lives…in a sense we get to start anew. ‘New Year Resolutions’…we’ve all made those lists. Let’s just... Continue reading
