Before the November election last year I wrote that the first four years of Rick Scott's arrogance and incompetence would pale in comparison to another four years under a two-term governor with nothing to lose when there's no longer an election to worry about. Well, the wait to see that... Continue reading

Rick Scott wasn't even sworn into office before his transition emails were deleted in spite of the fact that they fell under Florida's public record laws. At the time it was blamed on a technical glitch. Since then, similar glitches have mysteriously swallowed all sorts of records that should have... Continue reading

It wouldn't be a huge surprise if no one remembers that time a while back when Jeb Bush appeared to suggest that the GOP stop behaving like a bunch of loons just this side of a Monty Python villagers spoof. Almost as quickly as he said it, he realized that... Continue reading

For those who have waited with anticipation for the day when the Republican Party finally wakes up to realize that people all over the country, their party constituents among them, actually like health care, wait no more. That day has indeed come. However, the wait for a common sense reaction... Continue reading

Blown Away? It's Time To Make Charlie Crist The Last Man Standing You have to hand it to Republicans who love to hear their own voices and talking points. They like nothing more than preaching to the choir. That's why they spend so much time on FOX. Rick Scott is... Continue reading

These Two Don't Pass The Smell Test This weekend Charlie Crist and Gwen Graham will be accompanied on the campaign trail with former President Bill Clinton. Meanwhile, Rick Scott will be appearing yet again with Chris Christie, a man who dreams of, but never will be President. It's hardly a... Continue reading

Rick Scott: Fear The Invisible Hand Of The Great And Powerful Charlie Before Rick Scott was elected in 2010, he blocked voters from seeing a deposition he had recently given, in a case that came after he was run out of Columbia/HCA, the company he founded and the same one... Continue reading

In the last debate with Charlie Crist, Rick Scott said "How would I know?" when asked what the minimum wage, which makes him cringe, should be. It was perhaps one of the first times Scott was being honest since he became governor. Not only does he have no clue what... Continue reading

Minimum Wage? Sorry, Not Interested When Rick Scott was asked at last night's debate what the minimum wage should be, he may have given one of the only truly honest answers we've heard from him. He responded: "How would I know?" Indeed. How would he know? He isn't even remotely... Continue reading

A Picture And A Smile Are Worth A Thousand Words During last night's debate, Rick Scott mumbled and fumbled his way through the discussion of the execution he canceled to accommodate a fundraiser for Pam Bondi, at her request. He finally admitted that was the reason he did so, after... Continue reading

In reality, a vote for Wyllie is really just a vote for Crist or Scott.
One of the most damaging, and stunning moments of tonight's Florida Governor's debate was when Rick Scott admitted he postponed an execution to accommodate a fundraiser at Attorney General Pam Bondi's request. As you watch, notice Rick Scott's habit of eerily smiling while his unconscionable actions are described by others.... Continue reading

Charlie Crist vs The Governor Who's Been MIA For Most Floridians Since He Was Elected I've been largely absent from the blog lately, only because I've been busy undergoing a major move and, reluctantly, I haven't had the time to do both. However, tonight is the last debate between Charlie... Continue reading

Charlie Crist vs An Empty Podium The second debate between Rick Scott and Charlie Crist just ended, and the most that anyone will remember is the empty podium beside Crist, after Rick Scott said he refused to participate in the debate because Charlie Crist had a fan under his podium.... Crist vs Scott, Round One Last week, during the first debate between Charlie Crist and Rick Scott, Scott demonstrated that he had little to offer his Hispanic audience beyond saying he loves families and that, as a poor child growing up he could relate to them (yes, really), that he... RE: James M. Ray Journalism means asking questions, which I did. I also never got any answers from the candidates or the media in question. To merely "speculate" that the libertarian candidate would never restrict debate (your words) without asking the question would be partisan. The stupid's in your court.
That was one of two big takeaways from tonight's Attorney General debate, which voters not living in the Tampa Bay and Orlando area were blocked from seeing. Given Bondi's performance, it's no wonder she's afraid to participate in more than one debate. When Geroge Sheldon, her Democratic opponent, said the... Continue reading

What's Pam Bondi Afraid Of? If you haven't been paying attention to the Florida Attorney General race, you had better pay attention and look quick. AG Pam Bondi (R-ick Scott's Lawyer) will only agree to one debate with her opponents, Democrat George Sheldon and Libertarian Bill Wohlsifer, and few in... Continue reading

RE: Orlando: Which will actually help split the vote, be virtually meaningless, and solve nothing, because that choice is actually a vote for Scott or Crist.

Despite the GOP's constant parroting that Obamacare would be, or is, a "train wreck," the facts prove time and again that it's doing just fine. In Florida, as of June, 866,485 enrolled in health care plans under the Affordable Care Act, and that number is predicted to reach 1.1 million... Continue reading
