As you've probably already figured out, I am a major advocate for raising awareness of Hyperemesis Gravidarum and supporting women and their families suffering from severe pregnancy sickness. And this isn't just because I work for a charity doing just that! Since my own pregnancy I have been passionate about... Continue reading

As we get nearer to Easter I should be excitedly planning fun activities for us to share over the long weekend as well as looking forward to my birthday at the end of the month. I mean, I turn 30 in just over 2 weeks time - that's worth celebrating,... Continue reading

As you can see, my own contributions have been joined by some really beautiful... Continue reading

The other day I wrote a blog post about feeling guilty as a wife, mother and friend. It got quite a varied response, with one friend telling me she felt exactly the same a lot of the time and then a different friend asking me why I was letting so... Continue reading

If you've been following my blog for a while you'll know just how much I have enjoyed BritMums Live the past two years and therefore how excited I am to be going again. I ummed and ahhed about going this year because of the cost and the fact I haven't... Continue reading

I hadn't planned on writing so much about how I am struggling right now, but it seems as if writing about these things is more important than I realised. This past week I have written two posts about my health and each one has received over 200 hits - my... Continue reading

I'd like to take a moment to talk about Mental Health and the way it can impact on the way we react to our own emotional triggers. I've never hidden the fact that I have suffered from depression. However I have never taken the time to express how and why... Continue reading

It feels like I haven't blogged about Endometriosis in a very, very long time. Too long in fact, because right now I seem to be having major issues with it all again. I think the last time I posted properly about it was way back in 2010, before I fell... Continue reading

Welcome to the third tutorial in my Crochet Basics series of photo tutorials. Today's tutorial brings me to a point where I have to make a decision - do I use UK or US terminology? As I'm a UK blogger you'd think I'd use UK terminology, but to be honest... Continue reading

I've been thinking about creating a series of photo tutorials of the basic crochet stitches for quite some time now. In 2013 I made some videos for iVillage.co.uk but have wanted to do something different for my blog and this seemed like the best way to share the basics with... Continue reading

Katherine, thank you so much! I have sent you an email so I hope you have received it. I do hope that my page on One Child Families helps - it has links to other bloggers with only children on it :)

So, I never really thought of myself as a good cook. But it turns out that when I put my mind to it I'm actually pretty good at mixing flavours together in a hodge podge kind of way - go figure! This is what we ate last night - Veggie... Continue reading

That's a great way of putting it and I think you're right, I do actually tend to be drawn more towards blogs with a variety than those which focus on just one thing. I wonder why I never translated that as it being the right thing for me to do as well? Thanks for your insight x

Thank you - I feel as if these things are important to me and so many others and so it is confusing to find out I have been shying away from them for no real reason at all! Here's to writing about what we're passionate about!

Thank you! You are right, of course, as is everyone when they say it's about who you are and if that involves varied topics then that's the way it goes :) x

Haha - yes finding time is a major struggle once you've got a child isn't it?

It's an exciting and slightly scary position to be in, isn't it? Good luck with your decisions too!

Thanks Clare - it's so lovely to see so many bloggers saying the same thing :) really encouraging to be reminded blogging is a reflection of who you are!

Thanks Anna - it's difficult I think because a lot of the bigger blogs you see around and about are very specific to one area and it can feel like maybe you're getting it "wrong" somehow by having such a mix of topics. But at the end of the day, if it works for you as the blogger nothing else really matters, does it?

Oh yes, I think for me the major conflict has been writing about faith on my blog - first because I don't "fit in" really with most faith bloggers and secondly it doesn't really go very well with some of the awareness stuff (like blogging about HG in relation to the book I'm writing about it!) But I think I have to remember that this blog is MY space and an extension of who I am (just as you say) and not a professional blog in any way. Therefore it doesn't really matter. Hard to remember this though isn't it? I shall be having a look on your blog bar later to see how you've done it :) x

It is hard isn't it? And I think it is constantly changing because a) we're constantly changing and b) the world of blogging is constantly changing!
