Full confession, y'all. I've never gotten a Mother's Day gift. Not once. So when #BabbleBoxx offered me a special box just for moms - I. Was. In. I just loved the idea of having a whole box of wonderful products show up on my doorstep that I would be able to use during my pregnancy and after the little man is born. I had no idea what all would be included so when I opened the box - OMG! It was wonderful! My husband even got excited about this unboxing. Read on to find out why a Babbleboxx is the perfect gift for new moms this Mother's Day! Continue reading

When I was pregnant with my first child, I wasn't 100% sure if I needed a stroller or not. Honestly, I was leaning toward not since our house and car is very small (no storage for a large stroller even if it was collapsible), we live in a rural neighborhood with no sidewalks or trails for walking, and everywhere we go has shopping baskets. A stroller really felt like an extra that we didn't need. Then, I started thinking. We knew that we'd be traveling a lot in the first few years of her life and that involved long, multi-leg plane rides... and that meant we really should invest in a stroller to make it through airport terminals. And you know what? I am SO GLAD we made that decision! Trying to travel or vacation with a baby or a toddler (though little buggers can RUN) without a stroller is like trying to make a hole in a brick wall using just your head - it's really, really hard and you're making things more difficult than they need to be. Don't believe me? Here's my 5 reasons a stroller is a must when you travel with babies or toddlers! Continue reading

So, I'm not much of a beauty person. I'm super low-key about the make-up I use and often go days and days without wearing any. However, one reason I can do that and not feel like a total uggo is because long ago, I learned the importance of excellent skin and dental care. If your skin and teeth are healthy and glowing - you really can feel confident in any situation - with or without make-up. So, naturally, I'm always on the lookout for awesome tools that I can invest in to help me keep my skin and teeth at their best. And I'm SO, SO excited to say... I found something AWESOME for those of you in the same boat! In January, I was able to preview (and play with) several products from the FOREO skin and dental lines and, OMG - they're not only fantastic tools, they're so chic and modern looking! So check out my rundown of the amazing beauty and health options for women, men, and children from FOREO: Continue reading

I'm solidly into my second trimester with this, my second pregnancy, and I've definitely been relying on several items to make this time easier/more enjoyable. My post-first pregnancy belly flap has taken on the form of an actual baby bump so I'm looking less like a super fat lady with a beer gut and more like a super fat pregnant lady. I'm feeling much better that I was during my first trimester and have been really enjoying the idea of a having a baby boy! Here's a rundown of my second trimester must haves: Continue reading

Save your money and save your sanity by pre-planning your wardrobe and packing a few versatile pieces (thus, saving precious space for shopping!). As many of you know, my little girl LOVES her some superheroes (she's a huge Hulk fan and I've always got my eye out for awesome superhero stuff for her). My girl doesn't really care if she plays with traditionally "boy" superhero toys and dress-up clothes, she gets SO excited when I introduce her to new bad ass female characters - like Rey from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". We watched this movie for the first time the other night and Melanie was completely enamored with Rey. She just loved watching her kick ass and take names. Is your little girl the same way? Then check out this awesome "Star Wars" Rey stuff for little girls: Continue reading

My mother-in-law, Mary, is a pretty amazing woman. She is a huge proponent of women's rights and feminism. Mary was a single working mother during a time when that was not the norm. She fought for equal pay, rallied against sexual harassment, and insisted on being treated with respect and dignity in the workplace. And she continues to contribute to and support gender equality and the rights of women and will not "keep quiet" just because people tell her to. I am so inspired by her and her drive to make the world a better place than the one she grew up in. Because of this, she is my everyday hero. Continue reading
