Today's state wedding inspiration board comes from the absolutely DEEEEVINE, Jessica of Storyboard Wedding. From Jessica, "When I think of my home state of Pennsylvania, there are a few things that come to mind. First and foremost, PA is a blue collar state, hard working & not afraid to get a little dirt under our fingernails. Playing a large part in the industrial boom, metals {& coal mining} were major exports but no matter what we never truly left our love for all things rustically inclined. As I started to think of how PA would translate into wedding inspiration, I defaulted to all things black & gold, and well, Steelers related. If your home state/city has a heavy sports pride, you'll completely understand where I am coming from. Once I got over my sports allegiances, and really started to think about what elements inspire a Pennsylvania feel, a few things really came to mind. Metals, simplicity while still being creative, rustic & earthy. Details & styling take on a gentle touch with muted metallic at every turn from oversized washers serving a table art to metal charger highlighted place settings. Copper hang tags serve as escort cards while a mixed collection of found bottles are brushed gold for centerpieces. Wedding fashion is more easy going, with a bit more of an organic, even slightly vintage vibe, paying homage to our roots. The result is a mix of metal colors & textures in multiple forms, natural wood elements, and fashion that embraces a more homespun down home feel!" Continue reading

RSVPs. They're the dirty word of weddings. Everyone hates them - the guests, the couple, the planner. No one EVER gets all the RSVPs back (in fact, if you're lucky, you'll get 30% back - maybe) and it's frustrating. But more frustrating is when you DO get them back and people haven't filled them in properly. So, as a public service announcement for the wedding guests, here's how to fill out an RSVP: Continue reading

**Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Target. All opinions are my own. #Sponsored** If you know me, you know I love me some Target. So when they asked me to share my favorite summer trip with The Boy and a few of my favorite items for your summer travels, I jumped at the chance. Long time readers may remember that for our honeymoon, The Boy and I drove from San Antonio, Texas to Portland, Maine and back. And it was awesome! All that quiet car time together right at the start of our marriage could have spelled disaster but instead it was hugely bonding and lovely. We spent our time in silence, chatting about our surroundings, and holding hands. We didn't plan much and that worked out perfectly for us as it allowed for spontanious side trips and experiences. I think for both of us, the best unplanned moment of our honeymoon road trip was an impromptu stop at the Civil Rights Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. We arrived very early on a week day so we practically had the entire place to ourselves which gave us time to really walk through and experience the entire museum. At it was powerful - I should have brought more tissues! The experience was also incredibly humbling... as was meeting several members of the Alabama Civil Rights movement who now volunteer at the museum. Really, truly amazing. I'll tell you what though, on a more basic note, I'm so glad that we remembered to bring along a camera for photos like this Canon EOS Rebel T5I. I really wish that we'd thought to include a tablet in our Target Wedding registry so that we could have downloaded some documentaries and books recommended to us by the volunteers. It would have been great... Continue reading

A member of Tulle Nation wrote and asked me for advice on the "right" type of shoe to wear with a specific style of dress.
