Thanks Hannah. This is always an exciting time of the year for rental companies in areas that don't operate year round! Best wishes for a spectacular season!

As the market continues to segment itself through technology, business owners now have the amazing opportunity to hone in on their ideal client with laser precision. Essentially, this allows you, as a business owner, to communicate with the right people more effectively and less expensively. If you have ever taken a business or marketing course you are surely familiar with the oft-used term “target market.” Unfortunately, this business-defining term is truly understood by few and its power captured by even fewer. It isn’t until you find yourself in the midst of building a business that you come face-to-face with the consequences of not having a clearly defined target market. Continue reading

Thank you and yes, definitely come back! We are working on great content for 2013!
Sure enough inflatables are used year round, but only in part of the country. While the majority of our rental members and friends can only dream of staking an obstacle course, some businesses are flourishing during the winter months! Typically these are our friends in the South and Southwest. Unless of course, they have an indoor center, in which case, the weather has no bearing. For the most part however, we see our phones start ringing for insurance and safety training in late February and early March as those winter dormant business owners start prepping for their busy season. So, we truly see a HUGE spike in activity in late winter. And yes, we agree, there are many types of inflatable games and we have seen probably just about everything on the market. Thanks for reminder...we'll remember our year-round operators in future posts!
Thanks Much!
We agree Lisa. Even in the short time since that post was written the world of blogging has exploded wide open with the exciting options available. Thanks for your input!
Thanks so much for the feedback!
We LOVE this trend!
Thanks for your input Jillian. We agree, every couple should consider hiring an event planner. Brides tend to think they can't afford a planner, but really a planner can save them so much money and provide a great experience by utilizing their contacts and skills. Also, there are high-end planners and planners who cater to those on a tight budget. Brides have to find the right planner for them and planners, the right brides. Finally, we love blogs for wedding planners as they help a bride see the planner's style before reaching out. Helps to qualify the bride and planner connection. Thanks again for your thoughts!
I know many who would agree with you Sarah. Thanks for you input!
True enough Angela. That's why you need a good support system. You need to network with other entrepreneurs and be a student of your business. Be sure to check out our website (www.EventPlannersAssociation.com) and join our newsletter list so you get the info you need as you build your business. Wishing you the best in 2013!
Thanks so much! We have tons of amazing content scheduled for 2013! Stay tuned!
That's a really good question. It's very hard to police this and while you can copyright your content, you would have to be prepared to deal with litigation. Many have taken the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach. You can "allow" others to use your content and strongly request they give you the credit. Provide a short paragraph that includes where the information came from and how to get more (website or blog). You see it all the time on this blog. Though most of our posts are written specifically for us, we ALWAYS provide a paragraph about the author (unless we wrote it). I hope that helps!
Thanks for joining in! We are delighted to have you! Feel free to join the conversation at www.twitter.com/EPAcommunity and www.Facebook.com/TheEventPlannersAssociation
Thank you. Lots more to come!
Shan~ There are many terrific programs available online as well as at the community college and university levels. Look for one that fits your career goals, as well as your budget. Very often you will find event courses listed under hospitality programs.
We agree! Social Media is very effective when done correctly! Thanks for your input.
Thanks Bookkeeper Sunshine Coast! Your sister can get lots of info on our website too: www.EventPlannersAssociation.com. Stay tuned - lots more to come!

You want to have an event, but you are panicking because you are not sure you can fill the event. Most often clients ask me how they can get people to come to their event. Of course, you could cancel the event if you are not getting a good response, but if you are anything like me, you don’t want to give up. This is the time to shift into marketing madness. It can be very stressful but there are some simple things you can do. Continue reading
