I've been swamped lately, but I really, really loved making these kitty faces. So much so that I've made two more cats for my final AAQI quilts (for July) and one other one for a block for a friend. I have ideas for more liberated animals, but no time to... Continue reading

It's not the vacation mode. You can inactivate only the listings you are taking with you that day. On your listings page you'll see the tabs at the top. Inactive is one of them. For stuff in the gallery I would say you shouldn't also have them on Etsy, but if you can make enough work to have a good selection in both places that might be good. It does seem like you do a lot more in person business, so maybe you don't need to have more than a few originals in the Etsy shop. Then you can inactivate their listings when you go to a show.

I have the same problems. Textile art doesn't translate to prints as well as paper based art. I don't do lots shows like you do, only the Fiber Art Stroll which I did last year and will do again this year. When I bring items there I take them off sale of Etsy for the day. You can make a listing inactive for any period of time. You're right, you wouldn't want to have more than one sale per item! That's great about the ladies making large orders!

You have been more than generous Jude! I hope you find a way to make this all work for you as I'd hate to have it all be just a memory. I have also seen quite a few using Vimeo and you can have secret groups on Facebook where folks have to be invited. Just a thought. Maybe Typepad needs a server just for you and your blogs!

Things came down to the wire and then Sarah brought these three flags over. Aren't they gorgeous? Liberated letters and a heart. So nicely done- thank you Sarah! Kayla made this one with a sweet bird fabric. Christy made the hug flag- more liberated letters! Lindsey made these sweet heart... Continue reading

Today, I have solved several design problems that have been nagging at me. I've gotten going on some projects that are not for the show, but need to be done around the same time. Cat faces are starting to come to life. The other pieces will have to stay a... Continue reading

Thank you Els! Yes, it's a fun one. I really seem to be drawn to these colors right now.

Starting to puzzle the blocks together, thinking about how to do the faces, hoping I can get it done for the show (but not going to make myself crazy to do so!). What's up with you? Continue reading

The Girlfriends top is done! I finished the last border with houses, baskets and stars made with scraps of hot pinks and reds on a green background. That was fun and I even have a quilter lined up to take this one, so it will be done for the show.... Continue reading

Thanks Heidi!

Just this morning I found out about two efforts to collect quilty type things for Boston. This one, fabric flags for To Boston with Love, was started by the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild. I've added a button to the blog for quick reference. You can also click here. If you'd... Continue reading

I finished the binding on Las Ventanas this morning and went looking for a suitable place for a photo shoot. The colors of this one are brilliant, but hard to photograph well. The background color is really a mustardy sort of yellow, but can look chartreuse or other shades of... Continue reading

I'm zooming away with this one and loving it! The colors are hard to capture, so this is a bit off. More photos soon. Continue reading

My hubby got a good laugh over that one! Yes, he does some cooking and cleaning and does a lot of laundry. I also have gotten used to cleaning less often. I do have a lot of free time, but I also tend to work quickly. I think the thing that takes the longest is the pondering. I often have one project on a design wall so I can look at it and think about it while I work on another project on the other wall. Usually once I've figured out what to do, things go pretty quickly.

Another spam comment. Wonder why that happened? Maybe Typepad had the hiccups. Thank you. I like the color combo too.
Thank you Cheryl! I just found your comment in a spam folder. I have no idea why it would be labeled spam, but I'm glad I found it.

I was taking photos of some of my old work. I've never inspected my quilts at the window like this. It's kind of cool to see the insides. Continue reading

Thank you Heidi. I really do love this one and it's the colors and the prints that make it for me.
