Create with love, laughter and a bit of whimsy, and we're sure to illuminate our world.
Interests: My passion is to create joy and love through our spirit. I've discovered that a figment of my imagination is a little bit of heaven inside of me expectin' to get out. We are blessed to be creative and are meant to share our talents, so let’s inspire one another to shine. ------- I dabble in mixed media, collage, altered books, altered art, photography, painting, scrapping, journaling and writing. I teach sewing and ribbon embroidery and had a needle in my hand since I was 14. I want sewing to be fun, fashion or art.-----------I'm a southern gal and have decided to be more creative in my second half of life.. ha ha -- full of imagination and heart. Let's be generous and grateful Let's Create, Imagine & Illuminate as Morning Dew Drops. My spiritual inspiration..." ...Out of the womb of the morning will spring forth Your young creating anew who are as the dew." (my interpretation of Psalm 110:3)

Well, hello my lovely dewdrops. You might say I've been on a sabbatical of sorts gearing up for a super duper 2013 and here we are into March already. I've been working on all sorts of art-eye candy for you. Resin jewelry being one of them! So I'm off on a run again, but had to just dive back in or you'd wonder where I've been. March brings back the best of past posts for your review as we start anew for Spring 2013. Yeah, so much to do, "I'm late, I'm late," said the white rabbit in Wonderland, but... Continue reading

Aqua Jada is the water-wise mermaid. Jada means “wise” and she sees beyond her past because she knows it’s the only way to see her future. Hence, the name of the painting is “Sea Beyond”. She "seas" beyond what’s in front of her to create her future -- one of richness, love, joy and beauty. In the midst of the deep troubling waters is a vastness of beauty. Can you see it? The word "vision" has been popping in my head since the New Year began. I’m being asked to see rivers in the desert and, apparently, magical mermaids under... Continue reading

A Cake Cup - My Twist on a Sweet Gift and Under $4 I'm sure many of you have seen this idea. I call it the Cake Cup - some call it the "3-2-1 Microwave Cake in a Cup," but no matter what you call it; it's simple, sweet, delicious, easy and thoughtful. I got my mugs at Walmart for $1.97 in light and dark blue. These were Christmas "happies" I made for my co-workers. Great to remember for -- babysitters, teachers, caregivers, etc. (To save more you can go to the dollar store and get Christmas mugs.) I made... Continue reading

Inspirational 52 ATC Card Deck Swap I love to inspire! So here mine are all strung together and blowing in the wind. Jessica Brogan is having her 2nd 2012 Inspirational Card Deck Swap First, all 52 ATC cards you make have a different quote. These are now cut apart and covered in beeswax. I even put mine in individual envelopes like a little "happy". That's what I call small delights not big enough to be called a gift. Since I machine embellished mine with decorative yarn/ribbon, it was easy to just stitch them together and then cut them apart when... Continue reading

I'm busy putting the final touches on the gifts we're giving to our winners. Of course, it'll be a surprise. Jeanne from Backyard Neighbor is our final winner in our contest. Please congratulate her. Hi, I'm Posey Hope, a pink-freckled fairy of hope. I want to challenge you to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please pass along the ribbon in my hand; share it as often as you can. Let's get the word out about mammograms. My aunt died of breast cancer. A year later in 1975 my mother died of breast cancer. She was only 45 and I was only 17. My sisters are breast cancer survivors! Most women know someone close to them who has or had breast cancer whether they are our aunts, nieces, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, friends or cousins. Today... Continue reading

Carolyn Dube is the winner of our first round of participants in Morning Dewdrop's Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge. Carolyn is a mixed-media artist and has an awesome blog called A Colorful Journey. Please visit and congratulate her!! (I apologize for this post being late; I was supposed to have announced the winner on Oct 14th. Sometimes life just happens, doesn't it.) Carolyn won an ATC-size mini canvas of Posey Hope, our pink-freckled fairy, who symbolizes Breast Cancer Awareness month for October. Posey can’t wait to be-dazzle Carolyn. The mini canvas will also have a magnet on the back, so Posey... Continue reading

New Orleans wrought-iron balconies along the quarter Now, it's mid-century - What would be happening on these balconies in October 1950? Would neighbor greet neighbor? The Way-Word Girls came to me in a dream. Creativity is always bountiful when you ask for it with a purpose. Gifts and talent come you didn't know you had when your idea is driven by purpose. I didn't draw people until a year ago; yet I created these four young women (googly eyes and all) long before that. So why, after watching a simple video, is a voice-over actor willing to become their voice? And why is a producer willing to submit a short film debuting The Way-Word Girls to a film festival? Or maybe create a pilot for... Continue reading

Autumn Gold comes to visit me about this time of year, From the murky waters of the bayou, she appears. I see her along the tree line as the cotton picker pulls from the vine white balls of snow. But little did I know, she ushers in the first day of the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashannah, the anniversary of Adam & Eve, The creation of man is now here. Autumn pushes the hue from her sweet face to reveal her red leaf lips Her auburn hair of apples dipped in honey hidden from view her Shofar ears Can you... Continue reading

My name is Syca [sik-uh] Muhr. When I was young, I did not see you. I was incapable of truly seeing anything beyond myself. I learned to slough that out of me. Now I search your eyes and see your spiritual passion. I want to help set it free. When I was young, my skin was spotted and grey. I had no color. I had no flexibility in my neck or my mind. Now I am expansive and glowing because I learned to yield my mind. When I was young, I did not listen. I was hollow. But now I... Continue reading

Hi Kay Ellen -- A Bouquet of Pencils -- That reminds me of the movie You've Got Mail with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks when he tells her that Fall reminds him of certain things and if he knew her, he'd send her a bouquet of sharpened pencils. So kudos. Blessings Terri -- Following you on Twitter and Pinterest and hoping you'll do the same so we can meet again; can't wait to re-pin from your boards. Thanks Terri http://morningdewdrops.com

Posted by Terri - Kindness inspires the creative process and opens your heart to the art of musing. Being kind for no reason is kindness. If your creative muse is not being kind to you, then you might not know how to be kind to yourself or maybe someone is not being kind to you. Seeds of kindness must be cultivated and nurtured to grow. How do you do this? Start by asking these questions: What am I imagining? What am I pondering? What am I meditating on? What is my focus? You help create the atmosphere around you based... Continue reading

Hi Everybody -- I originally completed this piece for submission in a magazine. I guess they were looking for a different interpretation, but wouldn't you know it, this piece brought on a whole new meaning for me. So the French say, "Vis, Aime, Ris - C'est la Vie!" (Live, Love, Laugh - That's Life!) Yes, the art photo gallery theme for the second issue of Featuring is "The Road Ahead". It's a wonderful magazine (second issue isn't out yet, be sure to check it out later though). I was published in the first issue. Anyway, how do you like the... Continue reading

Celebrating with the Fleur de lis A special mention in honor of those who have died fighting for our freedom here in the United States of America as we celebrate this Memorial Day Weekend. Broken jewels, tattered lace, music notes and letters written over time with three fleur de lis as in the flags of Acadiana and New Orleans. Faded and translated held together with running stitches and a bracelet mailed to a sweetheart. No matter where they were stationed many traveled the globe, fought and died from WWI to Vietnam, the Middle East and maybe even all the way... Continue reading

As you know from my last blog, my fabric art collage was published in Featuring magazine in the Theme Gallery - Cheering, Stomping & Applauding. Many of you asked me to provide some closeup shots and go over some of the embellishments, so let's take a look. I've used the images of the faces and bird before in my work. I recommend scanning all your drawings into your computer or from your camera to use again digitally. I printed the images onto Ludratur fed directly into my printer. You don't need a carrier/feeder page. Ludratur is a spun bond web... Continue reading

Your Creative Muse is every color of the rainbow! She appears in my dreams and I've been dreaming about blue eyes. Do you dream in color? Vivid colors with such detail and clarity you reach out to touch it because it appears in 3D. Your creative muse lives in that world. A world of unlimited imagination. She can zoom in to your creative soul if you'll let her. She can have blue hair, live in a pink house and have a Zebra for a pet if that is what you want. What has your creative muse got you up to?... Continue reading

and Heirloom Keepsake Happy Easter Everyone -- And how pretty your little darling newborn will be in her Easter bonnet made from a pink vintage lady's hankerchief. Then tucked away in a dainty heirloom keepsake -- just snip a few places here and there and the baby bonnet becomes a hanky again for her to carry as the bride on her wedding day. You can google a search to get the directions for these hanky baby bonnets, but I'll provide a site at the bottom of the post. Of course I took mine a step further -- I added banded-lace... Creativity flourishes when nothing is beyond your imagination. And when criticism does not exist, a sweet story is sure to begin. . . . . .Hand-picked possibilities are abundant in south Louisiana as these pink flowers droop lovingly near the bayous. And when you wander among the flowers that grow outside their lines and hear the roaring waves in still waters, you are sure to see a yellow-ringed purple duckie. . . I try to remember I'm creating simply for pleasure when I begin to doubt myself. Otherwise, I would have never completed this piece for my mind made sure... Continue reading

Well it is Summer 2012 and time for Motivational Give Away over at Willowing Lifebook, so I'm re-posting my Goddess of Expectations. I thought it would be kind of fun for us to re-visit and/or re-motivate our creativity expectations and see where we are now that the year is halfway underway. I'm happy to say I've exceeded my expectations and my momentum is bursting into gorgeous blooms. What am I expecting in 2012? To create art, to network art, to share as an artist and glean from other artisans and to enjoy art. I joined Tamara Laporte's Life Book 2012... Continue reading
