Create with love, laughter and a bit of whimsy, and we're sure to illuminate our world.
Interests: My passion is to create joy and love through our spirit. I've discovered that a figment of my imagination is a little bit of heaven inside of me expectin' to get out. We are blessed to be creative and are meant to share our talents, so let’s inspire one another to shine. ------- I dabble in mixed media, collage, altered books, altered art, photography, painting, scrapping, journaling and writing. I teach sewing and ribbon embroidery and had a needle in my hand since I was 14. I want sewing to be fun, fashion or art.-----------I'm a southern gal and have decided to be more creative in my second half of life.. ha ha -- full of imagination and heart. Let's be generous and grateful Let's Create, Imagine & Illuminate as Morning Dew Drops. My spiritual inspiration..." ...Out of the womb of the morning will spring forth Your young creating anew who are as the dew." (my interpretation of Psalm 110:3)

Through the eyes of my children, I am taught to see. My world continues to get bigger & better through my children even though they are grown. I am more thankful & accepting because of their free spirits. We can see more good through togetherness no matter it we learn it from our children, families or friends. Continue reading

Two little birds, one in fear close to the heart and one rather sad wanting to take part, out on a limb of an extended arm. Togetherness is the theme and thankfulness wins the game! There are approximately 162 shades of gray/grey mixed with the colors in this picture, so we've gone from black & white, somewhat intriguing- these opposites -to a little more intriguing- a little more cohesive! We stand a little more together. This week I have been concentrating on togetherness along with gratitude-appropriate for Thanksgiving week, don't you think? Follow my visual story through to the finale... Continue reading

This started out on a piece of canvas torn from a $9 painter's drop cloth. I had no design in mind except I was going to have big blooms and somehow the face came into play, but more of an "on the side" item vs the flowers. I had fun drawing & painting this art quilt. It is not that big. I would say 2.5 feet by 3.5 feet, but that is just an estimate. I gave it to my sister-in-law as a present and I didn't record the final measurements. She'll hang it as with a tapestry rod. I'm... Continue reading

We're posting Part 2 on Marblizing Fabric with Shaving Cream. Please read Part 1 of 2 of the tutorial to learn about the supplies we used, tips and technique tricks and additional resources used. You're sure to love all the little extras we learned along the way to make this fun project even easier! Part 2 is more about the sewing and completing the outfits. Natalie loved mixing the paint into the shaving cream. She soon was doing it all by herself -- laying down the fabric and scraping off the shaving cream/paint mixture. Natalie chose the blue and silver... Continue reading

Last time y'all saw Natalie she was doing a little bit of quilting to make the cover of her Stitch & Sew Book Sampler. Simple quilting is nothing more than stitching over two pieces of fabric with some type of padding (batting) in between. Here Natalie is stitching in straight rows. Natalie also recently learned she could sew on cardstock and make her own unique Sew Cards!! But what about the pages of her Stitch Book. Well it's already October and Natalie is now 8 years old. She's been busy selecting from different embroidery stitches she wants to include in... Continue reading

Needle-Felted Spider on Apron Bib Spins her Web and Catches a Cocoon I'm known as the Spider Lady at Halloween. We have the biggest spiders at our house in the whole city, so I've been told. So when all the ghost and gobblins come to our door will they get a treat? or a trick? Or will they be caught in my web and spun for safekeeping? The apron bib and pockets were machine needle felted with wool roving, angelina fibers and scraps of netting, tulle, craft felt and yarns. The spider was needle-felted and shaped with black wool roving.... Continue reading
