Thank you for taking the time to respond, Kerry (and complimenting my quilting). I remember reading a lot of criticism regarding quilt shows which gave up more floor space to vendors at the expense of the exhibit. It kind of made sense back then, in the pre-Internet early '90s, since many of us (me) did not have access to brick and mortar fabric stores and relied on shows to buy fabrics. This doesn't quite hold up today as we have more ways to see and buy, and a lot more to buy. But we still don't have excess of money and time (at least I don't). Maybe it's because the industry analysts focus on 2 demographics that do not describe me: the stay-at-home mom and the retiree, both of whom have the winning combination of disposable time and cash. I'm not quite sure I know how many people fit this description, but I think the industry is banking on it. One more thing; your word 'frenetic' nails it.

Thank you Margaret! I have a few ideas about the quilting, but I can't seem to commit. I know I'll poppet of bed one morning with just the right idea!

Thank you very much for reading, Kerry, and I am so glad you enjoyed it. I am really looking forward to finishing this piece - I'll have it done by next summer for sure! Thank you also for telling me about the Wordpress issue - I'll look into that. And, thanks for the big compliment on my post. I don't write very often, but when I do, I try to make it interesting!

Hi Kerry - thanks for the compliment! I can't decide if I should prep more hexagons or baste a new top for the Olympics. Since my new quilt is about swimming I should probably go that route. Let the games begin - it should be pretty interesting . . .

Finally - someone gets my sense of humor! I think I have them all, but if not, I'm sure the local wildlife will make good use of the lost squares. Since I cannot quite get the hang of invisible appliqué, I stitch the circles down and I love it that way. By the way, the cash thing happened later . . . it's was mighty windy here today.
