Before Going through Security for the Capitol I am slowly piecing together the events of last week from my trip to sing at the Capitol. It might sound silly, but it's taking me longer than expected to be able to sit down and write about it properly because it was... Continue reading

(I should be cooking...but was feeling a need to be expressive...turkey can wait!) I am beyond thankful this year. I know many take this time of year, particularly today, to say words of that nature. But to me, there is no greater feeling than telling someone you are thankful for... Continue reading

I don't know why certain people, or projects, or ideas come into my life Or what new journey will present itself with the bright beginning of each day. But it's the not knowing that is the most exciting because it keeps me on my toes and proves that I am... Continue reading

I try to spend Friday's flushing my brain of random thoughts and information from the previous week. I need all the space I can get in there. I'll never be fully flushed... Bill Clinton's dog's name is Seamus. That's my husband's name. I'm not sure what it all means, but... Continue reading

Identical twins. They're a funny thing, aren't they? But when you think of twins you think of cute newborn babies, crying helplessly for their parents. The father holds one...the mother holds one. Or you think of two cute little 5 year old boys, wearing matching khakis and polos heading to... Continue reading

I live in Tennessee. And I'm reminded of it every day. And these little reminders make me smile:) I keep my makeup brushes in a mason jar. I drink whiskey (and just about everything else) out of a mason jar. Oh, I drink whiskey. I prefer a fire and a... Continue reading

Sometimes random thoughts take up room in my brain. And by sometimes, I mean always. Friday seems like a good day to recap and rid the random thoughts from the past week.... They say pets always seem to "match" their owners. I own pugs. And I am convinced pugs are... Continue reading

I have been in a state of reflection lately. Reflection on my youth, my past relationships, and my journey from yesterday to today. I've been looking at my life in segments, as pieces of a puzzle that are all finally beginning to fit together, although still a work in progress.... Continue reading

I love my job. And I don't have one. And I'm always working. I worked for some time in corporate America, in a cubicle, long hours, so frazzled and on-call for someone else that I would tend to forget who I really was. Or maybe I didn't even know at... Continue reading

It's no secret...I like to talk. Luckily....I also like to listen! I also like to sing, clap, laugh, stomp my feet, raise my voice in heated conversations, make music with friends, make funny noises, tell people how much I appreciate them, and share stories of amazing people, places and adventures.... I was an emotional child. I still AM an emotional child. I have recently come across old tapes (yes, tapes) of me singing and blabbing into my Fisher Price tape recorder (yes, tape recorder). My poor mother and father had to find the strength to ignore me, and the patience... Continue reading

Roomie, whether I comment or not, I am always following you and reading of your adventures. I have to admit that this Thursday morning post made me cry. Yup. Hearing the gorilla's side took me back to times when I knew you were falling in love and there was nothing you could do about it (yet). To watch what your relationship wasn't, to what it was, to what it is has been so amazing. And the fact that you're getting the gorilla of all people to talk about it, makes my heart happy :)

I am very blessed to have a beautiful, independent, creatively talented friend, The Hollywood Housewife. We've experienced so many things together and know each other all to well. She was my freshman year college roomate, my Los Angeles roomate, my bridesmaid, and my confidant for many years (probably heard and... Continue reading

When it rains, it pours. And my life is never the exception. June 16, 2007, Dallas, TX. The months leading up to this date had been consumed with massive rains and flooding. I had planned, 7 months prior, an outdoor wedding. And refused to have a backup plan, because it... Continue reading

Boise, ID. Ummm, potatoes? Cold? That was about all I knew of this cozy little city, much to my chagrin. It’s so much more than that! It was so wonderful. I haven’t quite returned my jaw to it’s closed position after dropping it repeatedly at the beauty of the mountains, beauty of the people, and beauty of the event we were a part of last weekend. Continue reading

25 miles. That should take around 20 minutes to drive on the freeway, right? Not on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010. It took the Chrysler 300 I was riding in 7 and a half hours to go approximately 2 miles that afternoon. Did I eat before we left? No. Did I... Continue reading

I am blessed, thrilled, honored and humbled to be working with an amazing program called Highway Angel through the TCA (Truckload Carriers Association, www.truckload.org). I understand why the public tends the furrow their brow when it comes to the trucking industry, and that is because you are only told the... Continue reading

People make their livings in all sorts of unique and interesting ways. It just so happens that my husband sometimes does so by making an ass of himself. And then adds bodily harm. And then adds bodily fluids. Yes, he works for Jackass (which by the way brought in a... Continue reading

I feel like I’m always waiting for something, for someone, for the next move. There was no exception to this rule last Friday as my drummer was an hour and a half late for bus call, and not answering his phone. I had no idea when I chose this line... Continue reading

My name is Lindsay Lawler. I’m from Dallas, TX, by way of Oklahoma. I’m a Red River Girl, raised between the two states…struggling with identity crisis. I was head cheerleader, and dated the captain of the football team. I was an eating disorder away from an afterschool special (PS, I... Continue reading

Welcome to my blog. Welcome to my life. Welcome to my craziness. Welcome to my confusion. Welcome to my joy. Welcome. To. My. Therapy. I’ve known about blogs obviously for quite some time. I’ve read them myself of course. I’ve questioned them. I’ve wondered why on earth we would all... Continue reading
