Natural gas qualifies as an alternative transportation fuel because it is superior to liquid petroleum-based motor fuels TODAY and creates a bridge to ultra-low emission vehicles tomorrow: 1)NGVs are cleaner, 2) NGVs have a lower lifecycle carbon footprint, 3) production and price of CNG is NOT controlled by OPEC, 4)retail distribution and price of CNG is NOT controlled by oil companies, 5) producing hydrogen from natural gas for use in fuel cells is the cheapest, cleanest most efficient way to power electric vehicles, 6) natural gas vehicles empower consumers to act TODAY, independently of government policy, to choose cleaner, safer and cheaper motor fuels. 7) NGVs can empower consumers to break the Oil Oligopoly.
