hi Diane! I used a garment cotton, so it's thinner than quilting cotton... but not quite as thin as lawn or voile. Unfortunately I don't know where I got it from and there's no selvedge info. But thank you!!! Do get the pattern, it was a fairly easy make. xoxo xo amy nanaCompany
hello! It's been a while I know. A while since I've sewn and blogged. I took a week long "California Adventure" road trip with my family (and it was like the best time ever) but other than that I've been working super hard behind the scenes. Once again I have... Continue reading

As shocking as it may seem: Mia turned three last week. Yes, 3. And we celebrated her in the simplest way possible, but with all the things she asked for... ... Cake, candles, presents, balloons and chocolate coins (she listed these things to me all the days leading up to... Continue reading

There was a very small, untidy shop in a rundown strip mall near where I lived years ago. And in that shop there were three rolls of Liberty of London lawn. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I bought yards of what they had and now... Continue reading

hi Holly, The Toshie Ishii cross stitch pattern charts were put out by Lecien, which is who I got mine from. I've searched online and found that still sells one "baby" chart, but otherwise they seem to be impossible to find. You might check etsy or eBay occasionally to see if anyone is ever selling from their personal stash. I use mine frequently and won't be selling them. Good luck! xo amy

I'm writing a new pattern for this sewing "book" because I needed a fun project (basically, it's like my needle book, but on steroids). Did I mention I'll be teaching at the Swapaholics Retreat coming up in September in North Carolina? It's a weekend for sewing, swapping, learning new tricks... Continue reading

Two girls whose work I deeply admire, Janice Zeller Ryan and Beth Vassalo, have written a book about modern medallion quilts that is really a show stopper, full of inspiring quilts made by the most talented quilters out there (and me). Yes, they asked me to be a part of... Continue reading

Welcome! I'm sure you've heard of it, but have you seen Oakshott cotton in person yet? I was so curious about it because the colors always looked so luxe and … dynamic… and it all makes sense to me now. { an Oakshott image } Oakshott cottons are special because... Continue reading
