hi Shannon, I end up making all my own pillow forms because my cases are all odd sizes. As this cushion finishes at 16 x 12" I generally make an insert that exact same size. xo xo amy nanaCompany

Now we're going way back to this cushion I made in 2012, for my Olivia. It's simple, it's easy, and I've finally written up a pattern for you. Make one for Christmas, make one for Valentines Day, make one for every holiday of the year (you know, with different wording... Continue reading

Sometimes you get a gift and you love it so much, you get out your scissors and cut it to pieces.. See that gorgeous Liberty heart garland? It was handmade by my friend Faith. She makes and sells them at her Instagram account @faithessenberg. She sweetly sent me one completely... Continue reading

In the days leading up to Quilt Market while preparing for my very first booth for Paperie, I spent little snippets of time working on non-market projects just to keep myself sane. I found these sweet paper gift boxes at JoAnn's and think they're too pretty not to share. Don't... Continue reading

It's still hot here. And humid. Hot and sticky humid. So have I mentioned I'm really excited about the month of October coming and bringing with it some cool weather for boots and sweaters and scarves? Also, hello October! This year ~ for the first time ever ~ it means... Continue reading

These days... I keep reminding myself, "work smarter, not harder" but I am so easily distracted. In a few days I'm leaving for North Carolina where I'll be teaching a class at the Swapaholics retreat with a group of amazing sewists. Preparations for that have pretty much consumed me (along... Some things are just a pleasure to make... And this Early Bird Place Mat designed by Erin Cox of Why Not Sew? was definitely one of them. I adapted it ever so slightly, but I loved working with Erin's pattern. Find this design and 10 others in Erin's debut book,... Continue reading

hi Jess, I've fixed my blogpost to reflect the real timing: it's due out in stores March 2016. That leaves plenty of time to get all excited about it! xo amy
Here's a pic that only we can appreciate, I realize. How many times do you look at your trimmings and think, 'gosh they're so pretty! I know! So this one's for us. Over the summer I had a little secret sewing project and now I can finally reveal it! Windham... Continue reading

boo hooooo! No, not really. I don't mind at all that summer's ending. I'm looking forward to the crisper air that arrives with fall, a little more structure in my day, and a chance to get some breathing space from the rugrats while they're at school. Yeah, I'm ok with... Continue reading

hi Diane! I used a garment cotton, so it's thinner than quilting cotton... but not quite as thin as lawn or voile. Unfortunately I don't know where I got it from and there's no selvedge info. But thank you!!! Do get the pattern, it was a fairly easy make. xoxo xo amy nanaCompany
hello! It's been a while I know. A while since I've sewn and blogged. I took a week long "California Adventure" road trip with my family (and it was like the best time ever) but other than that I've been working super hard behind the scenes. Once again I have... Continue reading

There was a very small, untidy shop in a rundown strip mall near where I lived years ago. And in that shop there were three rolls of Liberty of London lawn. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I bought yards of what they had and now... Continue reading

hi Holly, The Toshie Ishii cross stitch pattern charts were put out by Lecien, which is who I got mine from. I've searched online and found that still sells one "baby" chart, but otherwise they seem to be impossible to find. You might check etsy or eBay occasionally to see if anyone is ever selling from their personal stash. I use mine frequently and won't be selling them. Good luck! xo amy
