Hi Shronda! I live in Hong Kong, and I'm sometimes horrified at the condition of public bathrooms here - except for the shopping malls. They usually have a full time employee to keep them clean, which is really nice. I also see that you are a Raiders fan, and they will be playing the Redskins next season. Will you be going to the game? I will be doing a travel guide for Raiders fans traveling to DC for the game. Maybe you can offer some insider's tips on what to do and where to hang out.
Very good question, Suellen, and I will definitely check that out on my next trip to Macau, which I hope will be soon. What I can tell you is that the current administration has been very active in beautifying some of the enclave's older districts, installing antique style street lamps and mosaic pavement stones, known in Portuguese as "calacdas" (as opposed to cobblestones). The Christian churches and Chinese temples have all been beautifully restored, and little plazas with park benches and fountains have been installed in front of some of them. So the changes have not all been about Las Vegas style casinos. Parts of the city actually have more of a Portuguese appearance than they did before the handover.
