Using a 5mm hook, just work 32-42 ch, depending on the length desired, then 24 rows dc front loop only to produce the pattern shown. Slip stitch the two edges together, 8sts, miss 10 sts for the thumb hole, then sl st to end before fastening off and weaving in. You'll find the birds-eye button tutorial in the 'free pattern' section of this blog. Continue reading

Thanks to my patient crochet teacher Lena, I have learnt to make a macrame crochet cord and whilst this is just the base for something altogether more technical and elaborate, as soon as I saw it I knew it would make for pretty, summer bracelets for my 11 year old and her friends. Continue reading

Pipi's collection of feathers is filling out beautifully. Dante is more inclined to gather stones - mainly large, predominantly non-descript, but in a departure from the norm, he stumbled upon an interesting little bone (we suspect it's part of a duck's skull with what looks like a long bill) and a skeletal leaf... The Red Nose Day Dolls' lunch 'chez' Ros Badger (knitwear designer extraordinaire)? Too much, too much!!!
