Friday was another action packed day and the weekend was only half over. After the interviews for all the contestans, the bootblacks were able to strut they're stuff and show off some of their skills. They had the bootblacks show off some of their interpersonal skills and it was a hot mess, an orgy of Huberds being rubbed everywhere! Friday has been filled with contestant interviews all day gearing up for part one of the contest weekend. The judges will have a tough decision ahead of them with over 30 contestants in the three different catagories. The vendor mart is packed, they have a great BDSM Art Show, the LA&M is here with the Art of Drummer and displays, there are scheduled tours of local attractions, and the International Leather Family Dinner Saturday night. One of the many fun things at CLAW 11 is the huge tent set up in the host hotel parking lot for cigars and bootblacks. They have so many bootblacks who will be working and loving on leathers all weekend. Remember to "think outside the boot" and have anything done by bootblacks next time you can, it's an awesome experience if you haven't tried it. This weekend we have IMsBB 2012 Tarna and MACBB 2012 Raquel, my two fav femme bootblacks representing with style and flair. I can't wait to get their hands on my leathers later. Continue reading

CLAW weekend in Cleveland is more than just a weekend of education and parties. In the past ten years they have raised over $189,000 for numerous charities, and combined with CLAW Nation they have raised over $330,000 to date. Philly Leather Pride Night isn't one night anymore but rather a weekend event and fund raiser, that truly does involve the entire community. So many groups lend their time, energy, sweat, and tears I'm sure to pull it all off. They had parties every night, socials, dinners, auctions, art show, speakers, classes, and presenters from all over coming out to support this event. One of the main focuses is on the fund raising, this year being no exception with over $12,000 being raised over the course of the weekend. Congratulations go out to everyone who made MML2011 such a great weekend event! This contest is put on by C.O.M.M.A.N.D.MC in Baltimore and they do an awesome job. They had three great contestants this year, Hurley Reese, Thomas Idoux, and Joe Chmielowski-Liu, they all really did a fantastic job. The new MML2012 is boy joe, who also won the brotherhood award! PLPN kicked off a weekend long event today that is sure to be a great time. Tonight was an artshow with some awesome works by local artists including some pieces by Judy Tallwing. Rick Storer from LA&M helped make the announcement of a new backpatch club Philadelphia Leather Alliance and patches were handed out to some of the key people. The Saturday night program was centered around giving awards to dedicated Masters and slaves within our community who go above and beyond in their serving of this community. One award which was especially moving for me was an antique shoe box, made by a slave for their master on an old plantation, that was presented to slave amelia from Baltimore. She has studied, trained, mentored and worked endlessly as a Bootblack and is well loved by myself and many others nation wide. The theme was also about our traditions, past, present and future. Friday night marked the opening ceremony for this years Master/slave Contest. Master Z from Dallas and slave Raven worked the crowd as the weekend emcees, even providing a fun dance number performed to a Lady Gaga song. The evening became a little more somber after that when they had the Candle Lighting Ceremony which is an MsC tradition. Candles are kept lit all weekend as a memorial to people lost in the community over the past year. The contestants who will be competing for the titles of Northeast Master/slave were also introduced. The 8th annual Master/slave Contest outside DC is happening this weekend and promises to be a great event. Tonight was registration, then setting up the stage area, followed by an informal meet and greet for people onsite early. I had fun greeting fellow staff, meeting great new people, had a 10 minute spiritual/energy/magic workshop, and hugs with Mama Vi Johnson as she puts the finishing touches on The Carter Johnson Library, which is a M/sC tradition we all love.
