Thank you so much for this! I'm realizing more and more that I am a sensitive person, and parenting has brought out the good and more difficult parts of that. Being 17 weeks pregnant certainly has made smells so much more challenging for me! The personality profile stuff that you posts on Facebook a little while ago has been so great and applicable too. Thanks so much for yr thoughts on it all!

Why do I blog? I started thinking about this in the past couple weeks. And why haven't I, in a long time? I contemplated closing my blog, wondering if its' time had come and gone. But I find myself composing things in my mind again, and as spring is (hopefully)... Continue reading

I would like to say that I spent most of February watching the Olympics, but the truth is that with two little people, I watched only bits and pieces. But the hockey was great, of course! What we are watching: Suits! Cody has become addicted, and I am a couple... Continue reading

November This week, I was forced to sit down. To physically stop. Emotionally finished and at the end of myself. Last week, we went to our midwives' office. From the moment she started to examine me, I knew something was wrong. No heartbeat to be found. Mine was starting to... Continue reading

Summer weather always makes me want to listen to old music. And country music, which my brother informed me this week is too nostalgic. Summer makes me want to read. Reminds me of the girl I was, somewhere deep inside, who loves nothing more than to get lost in a... Continue reading

30 has snuck up on me. I can remember being a kid and walking down the hall of Annie Foote Elementary School. I remember it was the back hallway by the library, and I was 7. I was thinking that 14 was so far away, another lifetime. I was never... Continue reading

I sat for a while yesterday in my daughters' room, rocking with her on my lap. Theodore puttered around, looking for anything with moving parts and scooted his bum into all nooks and crannies of the room. Ella is rarely still. But on this quietest of Sundays, she was happy... Continue reading

Today I am cluttered. Foggy. Achy. Finicky. Unsettled. Frustrated. Longing. Hiding. Avoiding. Asking. Debating. Trudging. Belonging. Joyful. Peaceless. Wandering. Grounded. Growing. Stunted. Quiet. Busy. Humming. Buzzing. Continue reading

March is over! April is a big month for me. It is my last full month off work, and I will be turning the big 3-0. Let's not talk about those things just yet. Photo Credit here What I have been reading: Making Your Child Mind Without Losing Yours -... Continue reading

A number of friends, and bloggers that I enjoy reading have picked a word to capture the year behind, and ahead of them. Last year, I think my word would have been Loved? Yes, with the question mark. We have been through a lot of different things these past few... Continue reading

The Christmas season has come and gone, and we are now almost at the end of January (I was goi ng to write that we are halfway through, but that simply isn't true). We have had a lot of great things going on around here. December 1 saw my brother... Continue reading

Well, I said I would be here more often, and it's been a few months instead. Life seems to fly by these days, and I thought I should write an update for myself, and anyone who might stop by here! Today I am sitting while the kids nap, watching it... Continue reading

My husband and I are the parents of two kids, ages 2 and 5 months. We are both really tired these days, and are looking for meaningful ways to spend time with our kids, and with each other. Not just cooking and cleaning and making sure we all stay alive haha!

The house was chilly and there were little flecks of snow flying past our window this morning. Time for a seasonal change. In our world here and also in my heart and soul. It's been a few weeks of the seasons changing. Outside it's summer to fall, green to yellow.... Continue reading

Thank you! Grace for ourselves, the hardest kind to give sometimes. My brother told me recently that we have all been given a bowl of the living water of Jesus, his love and grace, and we need to pour it out on ourselves as well as others. Great encouragement!

Bum genius 4.0 have been my favorite. We have used them with both our daughter and son, and they have been so versatile, easy to change sizes between the two (D is 23 months, S is 4 months). We also have Apple Cheeks, and they work as a pocket diaper or as a cover.

My days are full. Too full sometimes. Wake up to the alarm clock of someone yelling, "Mommy!'. Feed one toddler, change a diaper. Nurse the baby while fending off the first child from sitting on their head. Give thanks for the ability to feed a little one from my body.... Continue reading

A couple of weeks into the summer, I got into my summer reading mode. Cody got worried. I disappeared from conversation and life for a few days (don't worry, my kids were fed and clothed and clean, I just hid in a corner and read whenever possible!). I searched out... Continue reading

This gig of parenting is hard work. I feel obligated to insert here that I love it, and I do. But, it's hard work. When do I get to eat? Shower? Read a book? Will I ever do those things in peace again? Laundry piles up, dishes stack up, self-doubt... Continue reading

It is a cool summer day at our house. We have enjoyed the heat of the first week of July, complete with a Stampede visit on Cody's Wednesday off! But we are enjoying a quieter day here, time spent watching the Wiggles, reading books and knitting. Waiting for Daddy to... Continue reading

So many things to say! Where to start... Theodore Simeon Kemper was born on May 14, 2012 at 4:53 in the morning. He was 7 lbs, 8 oz, 21 inches long. He was two weeks early, but a happy and healthy baby, who eats and sleeps so well! I forgot... Continue reading

A snow covered day! It looks quite cozy and sunny, very bright and white outside our windows today. Winter has decided to arrive, for a little while at least. And I feel like it should. I worry that if it doesn't show up now, it will show up in June.... Continue reading
