Let's thank those genius' at Minnesota for being too intelligent to know a good deal when one is presented. And, Mitch the jury is still out on you!
Lakers offer of Lamar Odom for No. 2 pick in NBA draft rejected by Timberwolves
The Lakers tried to move up in Thursday's NBA draft by offering forward Lamar Odom to Minnesota for the Timberwolves' No. 2 overall pick, but Minnesota turned them down, according to two NBA officials who were not authorized to speak publicly about the trade talks. The Lakers wanted to use the...

Who would you be willing to give up to get Dwight Howard?
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard recently shared with NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper that he won't sign an extension with Orlando and will become a free agent next off-season no matter what. Sure, Howard added that he "wants to be in Orlando," but he questioned the team's overall commitment t...

Dear Mitch:
Take note, the Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA title after sweeping the team you assembled, trashing the supposed heir apparent Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Chosen Ones from Miami, without Caron Butler, Roddy Beaubois, Brendan Haywood, etc. They have a very talented rookie guard and will probably get a good player with their first round pick in a week or so. If you think you are going to beat the Mavs by just "tweaking" the present roster your trippin! You need to make bold moves and cut out the arrogance. You got lucky to get Pau and have nothing else to brag about. Laker fans expect more than your cavalier attitude. Now get to work!
What needs should the Lakers try to satisfy with the NBA draft?
For every scenario that plays out in the NBA draft, Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak hopes he's preparing himself for all the possibilities. "You have to know every player, you have to have an opinion on every player, and you have to know the likelihood that you’ll make a deal," Kupchak rec...

Look fellas, and if there are any lovely ladies out there, hollah! Pau is the linchpin to any Laker deal with Minny. They need Pau to help legitimize Rubio, more than the Lakers need Love. Pau and Rubio will be playing in the European Championships this summer, and they already have great chemistry. Love has got to be a part of the deal because the Lakers aren't giving up a Second Team All NBA player for Raymond Felton and Michael Beasley with any assortment of other characters. Furthermore, Pau can no longer handle the pressure of playing for titles every year. He's satisfied with two! He would love for his only responsibility to be to sell tickets in Minny, and help his homey Rubio. Finally, any of you guys who would demand less than Love in exchange for Pau ought to just sign out because you have no balls! This is "grown-man's business" and not for the faint of heart! And, to the rookies who don't understand the salary cap, your trade has to be within approximately 85% of the salary (ies) from the other team, so no straight-up Pau for Love and/or Love and the #2 pick trade can happen under the current CBA! I'm out!

I would trade Pau for Kevin Love, the #2 pick, and whatever else will close the deal in a heartbeat. As far as I'm concerned, Pau has not sufficiently explained why he gave up on his team. I have been watching pro ball for over 40 years and I have never seen a star player quit on his team like that. He has lost all credibility with me. I have no confidence in him. So "don't let the doorknob hit cha Pau!"

I trade with Minnesota would be good for all parties concerned. Maybe they'll take Luke off our hands as a gesture of gratitude. Pull the trigger Mitch!

Here's my trade proposal:
Laker trade Pau Gasol and Luke Walton to Golden state, in exchange for Monte Ellis, Andres Biedrens and Dorell Wright. The Lakers immediately have the best backcourt in the NBA, a strong back-up center and get rid of Walton.
The Warriors get a great player to player alongside of David Lee and Udoh, and get rid of Biedrens contract. The Lakers can then fill-in their needs at power forward in the draft, and/or sign Luc Mbah aMoute, to back-up Odom!
How much change should the Lakers make to their roster?
Whether the Lakers are coming off a championship season or under-performing in a shortened season, there's one thing that keeps fans unified and divided: trade talk. Unified because every fan wants to size up any trade scenario imaginable, wondering if that out-of-nowhere reserve that lighted ...
