Thanks for the note, Josh. I'll add it to the article so that others may benefit from your solution.
Robert, the case that inspired this article was from an experienced IT admin who already knew and had a preferred method to push registry keys to his workstations, so we didn't discuss whether he was using SCCM or GPO. But, in general, here are details from Microsoft for pushing reg keys to workstations using a batch file: To create a registry key with a batch file https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc742162(v=ws.10).aspx
Thanks, John! I really appreciate the compliment, especially coming from you. I enjoy your blog as well: https://beyondthedraftingboard.blogspot.com
re: M S D., Thanks for noticing. I appreciate straightforward search terms too, when looking for a topic.
Hello Knut, to correct the backward appearing text, select it, then in the Properties Inspector, expand the Text section and look for 'Text view direction'. It may be set to 'Right-to-Left' and needs to be set to 'Left-to-Right'. Once you make that change, then deselect the text and it should read correctly.
For MaxU77: Make sure that you are clicking 'Apply to Layout' and then 'Cancel' so that the plot settings are saved without needing to generate a DWF. Then save and close the TrueViewSetup.dwg. When you re-open TrueViewSetup.dwg the last settings should show rather than 'None' for printer/plotter. See the third screen capture from the top of the page here.
Hello Kalasamp, the error (0015.111) is caused by different conditions than what we discuss above. You can approach Autodesk directly for this kind of error message using these details. To reach the Activation and Registration department via Chat for Licensing Help please take these steps: 1. Visit http://knowledge.autodesk.com/contactus 2. Select “Activation & Registration” or “License Management” 3. Select appropriate subtopics from the pull-down menus. 4. Select “I Still Need Help” if you need personal assistance
Hello Michael, I have confirmed that behavior in my Vault 2014 client as well. I haven't located any means to enable the last viewed folder structure to be returned at the next start up. But, if you save a shortcut to a file in your preferred folder, then clicking that shortcut at the next start up will return to the last folder view.
