http://rookiemag.com/2012/02/other-girls/ (Mr. Heidkamp, for some reason it won't let me link it to a word in my post) In an article from Rookie, a girl from New York talks about her expiriences in school and in society being an Asian girl. She talks about how people would say racist comments such as, "Are you Chinese or Korean? I’m not trying to be offensive, I just can’t tell you apart". She goes on to talk about how because everyone in her world thought of her as different, she knew she was different. She mentions that when she got cable she watched... Continue reading
There has always been some debate over which was better, the book or the movie? Whenever a movie comes out that was based on a book people start the debate and most of the time everyone has their own solid opinoin. People may not like the movie because it didn't live up to the standards of what the book was for them. When you read a book you make up the characters in your head and you play out how everything would go while you read. When your imagination is turned into cinema, you may end up being dissapointed because... Continue reading
"Not Another Teen Movie" came out in 2001 and is a parody of a lot the teen movies made from the 80's-2000's. Some of the movies they criticize are, "The Breakfast Club", "Pretty In Pink", and "Bring It On". This movie takes scenes from the original movies, and makes of parody of what happens. For example, The main guy has to make the unpopular girl in school the prom queen. Before an important party, he goes to her house with his sister so his sister can make the unpopular girl "sexy". The two girls go upstairs and the sister takes... Continue reading
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9qYF9DZPdw Weird Al Yankovic did a spoof of the song Ridin' Dirty. His spoof is making fun how Americans think of white and black people in today's society. His song is basically a white stating how cool he thinks he is and how he should be hanging out with the gangsters with everything he can do, when really he is just a total nerd. Happy days is my favourite theme song I can sure kick your butt in a game of ping pong I'll ace any trivia quiz you bring on I'm fluent in Java Script as well as Klingon... Continue reading

In the crucuible you see a lot of indiviadual vs. community. The first time you see this is when the girls are accusing everyone of witchcraft and it is all of the girls against one person. The one person has no chance to win because they are being accused of something they didn't do by a large group that is against them. I kinda see this as the "real" witches against the accused witches because the girls doing the accusing are doing more witchcraft by accusing people then the accused woman are. Another time you see this is when Abigail,... Continue reading
For a few years now the Allstate Insurance company has been showing commercials saying that the chaos guy will come destroy your house, car, and your valuables. At the end of every episode the chaos guy says that if you change to Allstate you will be better covered from chaos like him. These commercials are a logical fallacy called Faulty Analogy. This means that you have an analogy but the logic is confusing so it might take the reader/listener a while to figure it out. The chaos guy says: If you got your home insurance from the same place you got... Continue reading
Throughout Extremely Loud and Incredibly Closeyou are entertained with Oskar's many inventions. He makes inventions such as an ambulance that shows how the person inside is fairing, a hiking anklet that leaves yellow dots every time you take a step, and a birdseed shirt that you put on when you need to fly away from somewhere. As i was reading i noticed that all of he told you about a new invention after he has drama in his life or is upset about something. Oskar doesn't seem to tell people how he is feeling when he is upset so i... Continue reading
The artist Pink has a music video for her song "Stupid Girl". Her song is saying that girls in today’s society are not being themselves, but rather following what everyone else does, and if you do what everyone else is doing you might be popular. She is talking about how girls think that being themselves isn't good enough anymore. An example is some of the lyrics from the song. The disease is growing, it's epidemic. I'm scared there’s not a cure. Then she goes on to say that she wants girls to stop being that way and to just be... Continue reading
In his speech, Obama talked about how the politicians need to stop making this about themselves and about the American people. During his speech he kept saying that both Democrats and Republicans proposed this idea and liked that idea so the parties couldn't argue over how they didn't apove. Obama also talked about how the new plan would cut taxes of companies that hired new employees so they could have more money to pay to the employees and they could hire more people. Obama also adresses the fact that there are more teachers in American losing their jobs than their... Continue reading
