Most embarassing moment... That's a toughie, either I don't embarass easily or haven't done anything embarassing lately. I fell in our company's parking lot while walking in a couple weeks ago. Straight onto my butt, there was no stopping this fall. Thankfully ?? I was walking amidst rows of cars... Continue reading

The thing you're most afraid of... There's lots of things I'm afraid of, although the fear of them don't rule my life. Like heights, extreme heights. Like visiting the former-Sears Tower in Chicago, entire glass wall looking out to below? No thank you. Claustrophobia, being too closed in and not... Continue reading

Profess your love for another blogger - why and what makes them great? That was easy - The Hollywood Housewife. It's the way she writes. Most blogs I follow deal with craftyness or home decor projects, but I follow Laura Tremaine because of the way she writes. Go check her... Continue reading

Help!
I was losing my creative mojo with all of the business-y aspects of a handmade business - online marketing, creating enough to keep the shops stocked up. Ever try to force creativity? You can't. Well you can, but you end up hating your end product usually. So what's a girl... Continue reading

2013 Word of the Year - balance
Notice anything different? Probably not because you're all new here! But we went through a little business re-design the past few months. This blog used to be called "aboutthetown" and I started it a little over a year ago while taking Jeanne Oliver's class "Building a Creatively Made Business" (sigh.... Continue reading

I do love these pumpkins, all that velvet lusciousness. I love the ranch colored set. And I love that white set - could definitely take the pumpkin-ness into winter decorating with those!
velvet pumpkin {giveaway} from lovefeast table
I'm not a big seasonal decorator. I blame it on the fact that my zip code doesn't experience seasons. Still, I've been coveting these gorgeous velvet pumpkins from the LoveFeast shop for well over a year. Last fall I hemmed and hawed and then vowed that I wouldn't wait if they were availabl...
Hi, Looks fabulous! I've been wanting to take the issuu plunge too. Was it easy and how is the cost? Is there any cost/one time fee/monthly fee?
Great job!
I made an issuu out of it!
I have been trying forever to create a sort of e-zine or e-book of some of my journal pages and I finally figured it out using issuu. So happy I did it! Have a look - click on expand to see full size How fun is that. Listen, I`ve been busy baby sitting (more on that in another post...
So glad to hear the flat iron technology has changed. I spent a small fortune on a Chi years ago and I have to swipe through a few times and it removes hair along with it!
Although I have regular hair disasters, one that stands out in my mind was in 2000 I decided to try a perm again. Half of my hair took, the other half didn't. I looked like the cowardly lion :)
{giveaway} jose eber world's fastest flat iron
**this giveaway is now closed and the winner announced at the bottom** Have I adequately expressed how much I despise doing my hair? I'm just not good at it. So good hair tools are essential to my beauty regimen. After my trusty flat iron of five years sputtered and died, I tried this Jose ...
OMG we are kindred magazine inspiration saving spirits! I am so not organized into an official hard bound "look book" though, you go girl! I usually have a pile of magazines. Then I finally go through them and ear mark things I like. Then they sit around and I go through the ear marked pages and if I still like them, I tear the entire page out of the magazine. Then I have a pile of magazine pages for a while and sort them into categories like fashion, home decor, etc. THEN if years later I still like them, I bind them onto card stock. No idea why I just never bought a blank-paged book? It's like manual Pinterest!
turn magazine clippings into your personal look book
I originally published this in February 2010, but it's something I've been doing for years. I am addicted to magazines. But they have a tendency to take over my life. They collect all over the house until I'm pulling out tabloids from 2005 with Britney Breakdown cover stories. Quite a few y...

clarisonic mia 2 {giveaway}!
**This giveaway is closed. Winner announced at the end of the post.** Recently I told you about my latest beauty obsessions, the biggest among them the Clarisonic Mia 2. I purchased a Mia 2 after my facialist used it on my face and neck and highly recommended regular use. I have a ton of ski...
