This Mother's Day I received a swift and a ball winder from my husband and children. I wound almost 700 yards in less than five minutes. Best. Gift. Ever! As a bonus, turns out I have a ball winding pro as my assistant. Little mister is quite proud of his... Continue reading

It may be hard to believe, but six trees were housed in this tiny bag. Two peach trees, two cherry trees, and two apple trees will grow into an orchard that will provide our family with fruit for both canning and immediate consumption. All of our trees are of the... Continue reading

Over the weekend, with two sick children in tow, we managed to make it to the Wool & Sheep Festival. I've been wanting to go since last year when I first heard about it from a sweet 4-H kid at the State Fair. We walked around, watched a few shearing... Continue reading

This year we purchased a membership to Ladew Topiary Gardens. We went a few times last year and the kids loved it, but it is much too expensive for a family of four to go several times a year without a membership. We've gone twice so far this spring and... Continue reading

I love this post! We have just begun our journey of keeping chickens. We have six 15-20 week old pullets and three Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks who are now almost four weeks old. I, too, have my suspicions about one of those chicks being a rooster. I guess only time, and some sudden loud crowing, will tell :)

Yesterday, we were greeted with an early spring snow. We received seven inches total and made the most of what will probably be the last snowfall until next winter. We played outside making a snowman and snow angels and we took a long walk through the woods behind our house.... Continue reading

A few weeks ago we began our journey into animal husbandry with the purchase of six pullets (teenage chickens, if you will) and a coop large enough for us to expand our flock if we choose to do so in the future. The pullets, two Barred Plymouth Rocks, two Buff... Continue reading

Yesterday, we celebrated my son's fourth birthday. We had a small get together with just grandparents and us. I figure next year we'll have a big five party. For now, this was perfect - especially for my guy is so painfully shy that I doubt he would have enjoyed a... Continue reading

Is this why you asked me if I crochet? I really wish I could I help, but I'm really not that great at it. Good luck! If I pick up a few skills, maybe I could help. I'll let you know :)
