In the midst of inner turmoil and outer chaos, I needed to get creative. I made some lanterns from champagne coupes, I found in my mother's cupboard. I have no idea why my parents ever needed some of these but here they were and I love lanterns with tea light... Continue reading

And a lot happened. For the past year I was mostly a carer. For my mum and since October for my dog as well. And over the past months, both deteriorated more and more. Until last wednesday, I had to put my dog to sleep. Around 2, I cam home... Continue reading

I am really looking forward to rebuilding the garden. Seeing some beings grow and strive will be a nice change.

Yesterday two students visited me for a short dye day in inidgo. They wanted a peek into katazome dyeing and so I showed them how to prepare the paste, apply it through stencils and dye. It all takes some while and we had only a few hours so we concentrated... Continue reading

I am sorry to inform you that I will have to cancel my online class on dyeing and printing cotton and linen with natural dyes. My mother just turned 90 this month and since her last stay in hopital, she is now strictly confined to her bed. Although I have... Continue reading

When the end of winter comes, I wash all my woolies, look for holes, wear and tear and try to mend it. Most of my darning happens in between and concerns socks. But then there are the various holes in sweaters. I usually use similar coloured yarn and just weave.... Continue reading

Thanks to my new studio I was able to open the indigo season quite early this year. Nothing's nicer than building your vat while the cold rain is playing its steady rhythm on the roof and you are inside, relatively warm and very dry. And there is even warm water... Continue reading

I would, if someone paid me the flight and my expenses. But eucalytus dyeing is more India Flint's area of expertise. And I think, she teaches in Australia as well as internationally. Take alook at her page: http://prophet-of-bloom.blogspot.de/ and her classes here http://www.indiaflint.com/page9.htm I teach onliine classes in English and in German and classes here at my place in Aschaffenburg. You can find my German online classes here: http://www.nemo-ignorat.de

My second UFO for this month was a sweater I began two years ago and which I tried to finish in a rush during my last vacation. Rushing things never is a good thing, and so the almost finished result was less than pleasing and begged to be ripped -... Continue reading

Toggle Commented Jan 5, 2016 on well, that was easy at nemo ignorat
I did this starting at the sleeves a while back too. But somehow I moved back to knitting the body first. Well, one jumper down, and we'll see what the next new jumper project will be, as soon as my dreaded UFO is finished.

Hubby's jumper is finished. It turned out, the arms were much quicker to knit than expected. I caught up with some reading while knitting (reading on a screen while knitting is much easier than reading from a book) and got it done. It fits, and DH is happy. And in... Continue reading

Happy New Year everyone Many years ago, when I was member of the Workshop Program Steering Group of the Online Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, I invented the UFO month for January. What's better than beginning the new year by finishing some old projects. Unknowingly, I started a tradition... Continue reading
