Who needs a bit of sparkle in their life today? I know I do! Annabel and I were recently approached by Molly Brown London and, after spending some time gazing longingly at the stunning range of jewellery on offer via their website, we knew we had to share this delightful find with you all as quickly as possible. 'The beauty of jewellery is that it holds our memories; a love for jewellery can be inspired at any age and hopefully indulged for a lifetime. ' Described by Vogue as 'Tiffany for girls', Molly Brown London is a collection of simple... Continue reading

I don't believe in regrets, but if I did one of the main ones relating to our wedding day would be the decision not to invest in any live music or entertainment. While our carefully selected iPod playlist got people up and dancing, there's something about the atmosphere created by live music that simply cannot be recreated by what is essentially a modern day mix-tape. Unless you happen to make a habit of booking live acts for large events, the process of finding a band or other entertainment for your wedding day can feel like a minefield, which is why... Love My Dress Wedding Blog - Photography Copyright (c) 2012, Hannah Duffy at Wedding Belles Now based in Dulwich, London, Naomi's career as a designer came about quite by accident... While it may not seem like the most glamorous of topics, Annabel and I hope wedding insurance is something you will dedicate some serious thought to in the run up to your big day. Whether you're planning a large, lavish event or a modest, DIY affair, there will always be significant sums of money involved in organising a wedding. From deposits to dresses, the financial outlay is certainly not something to be taken lightly. Protecting your investment should probably be a priority, but it's not always something that features highly in the bridal 'to do' list. There's an awful lot... Continue reading

Charlotte and Darren were married on 13th October 2012 at Andaz on London's Liverpool Street. After checking in with Love My Dress almost every day while planning her wedding, Charlotte decided to submit her wedding photos for consideration and, boy, are we glad she did! From her gorgeous Candy Anthony dress to the perfectly coiffed hair, this is clearly a bride with buckets of style. The groom was equally as chic too. I do so love a man in a bow tie. 'Neither of us had given the wedding much thought when we got engaged and we soon realised we... Continue reading

Today I want to introduce you to Sellmywedding.co.uk, an online marketplace where newlyweds can sell their pre-loved wedding items to other brides-to-be. A year may have passed since my husband and I said 'I do', but most of our wedding still lurks beneath our double bed. If you were brave enough to crawl amongst the dust and debris, you'd find pretty tea light holders, a table plan, unworn wellington boots, vintage table cloths, cake stands and a battered old suitcase stuffed with even more matrimonial paraphernalia. As such, this post is as much for my own benefit as it is... Continue reading

I've never made any secret of my love for pretty paper. Despite the fact my wedding day is long gone, and I have no call for wedding stationery of any kind, I can't help but pore over images of carefully crafted paper goods. Today I suggest we all get lost in the work of Leonie Gordon... Leonie Gordon London is a boutique-style company that specialises in designing luxury, bespoke stationery for weddings and special occasions. As is often the case with engagements, ours started something of a trend. Within 12 months of slipping that ring on my finger, no fewer than three of my friends had followed suit and taken those first tentative steps towards marriage. For the most part, we all threw ourselves into the planning process with great gusto. My husband proposed while we were holidaying in Bali. Almost as soon as we had touched down on the runway at Heathrow, I was on the phone to my best girl friends, asking them to be my bridesmaids. Back at my Mum's house later... Continue reading

I must just echoe Annabel and say that Frances is SO lovely. I worked with her on the films for our beauty series and it was so much fun! She's a very talented lady :) Annabel's also right on the dress front. We've featured brides of all shapes and sizes on these very pages and they have all looked amazing. Good luck with the search, do enlist our help if you need some assistance. xxx

We're testing a new series here on Love My Dress, a series that focuses on our thoughts and observations of various aspects of bridal fashions. This afternoon, Franky is kicking off our new ''Notes on Style' series with a look at that prettiest of cotton fabrics broderie anglaise, and offers up some wedding day style inspiration for you all. Enjoy... I've only been a bridesmaid once in my life. Just over 15 years ago my sister and I were attendants to my Mother's cousin when she married her fiance one sunny afternoon in Surrey. I feel so privileged in my position as a blogger, to be able to share and promote the talents of some of what I consider to be the UK's very best independent designers. Anyone who knows me properly knows that I am fiercely supportive of the independent designer - there is a reason for that, perhaps best described here. I appreciate that I am in a position to promote these creatively very skilled people and I take pride in using my blog as a vehicle for doing so. One of my very favourite independent designers is a lady who goes... Continue reading

You're right Becky. I was chatting with a friend the other day about how much her almost-husband wants to start a family. She was voicing her concerns about giving up x, y and z and wondering aloud whether she was ready to do that. I suggested she ask whether she's ready to EXPAND her life because of a child, rather than reduce or limit it. Are you ready for the all consuming love... that sort of thing. She admitted that she hadn't thought of it like that before! xxx
Oh Kate you're too lovely! We ALL did well to survive that MA! xxx
You're so right Scarlet. I think life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you deal with it. With the right attitude you can get through pretty much anything. xxx
1. Even I look at that picture and think 'awwww'. We're so young and fresh faced! Well, I look a little tired, for obvious reasons! 2. Thank you dear Anna. xxx
