The best from October according to... well... me. So... a lot of new names in there. But still the best is DMA's, absolutely impressed with this band. Rebecca Clements, Springtime Carnivore, Ex Hex, Eerie Wanda. Exotic Little Month. Enjoy! The List: 1. DMA's - Laced 2. Dutch Uncles - In... Continue reading

BRNS - Behind the Walls Album: Patiné (2014) Label: CKoiCeBordelCorp Records Think Animal Collective, but with the typical Belgium Lo-Fi-ish Folk in between the crazy parts. Hints of School is Cool are in there as well. That's for me what BRNS is. It is an exotic sound, I can honestly... Continue reading

Sweet indie-rock from Cali. Sweet in the sense that it somehow has mixed garage influences with soft synthesizers building up to a great climax in this track. There is definitely more to this band than you would think. Absolutely unique. And since this song was not on Youtube or anything... Continue reading

I'm fed up with end of the year charts, again. So I voted on an alternative (for the dutchies): nr. 1(today, I mean I could make lists like this everyday and it would be completely different everyday.) is Alamo Race Track's - Black Cat John Brown Continue reading

Today's pick sounds a lot like the indie-rock we saw at the beginning of the zeroes, high tempo, very good sense of rhythm, like Editors or The Cinematics. But... now we have a lovely female voice, a synth-pop kind-of voice, finishing it all off perfectly. Another duo-band that has definitely... Continue reading

Indie-Rock meets Post-Rock, well sort-of. This track actually has so much going on. Vocally, Lyrically and Guitar-wise. It's different everytime I put it on. Love it. Just a great all-round track by Young Statues from their new LP, which excels in depth. Still this is a daily pick and for... Continue reading

Time for some artistic electro. This artist is specialized in setting that spooky setting with electronics. Unbelievable vibes. Some people might say: is this even music? Well I would love this to be the soundtrack to almost everymovie I could think of. So yes. This is music. This is electronic... Continue reading

This is my first experience with this band and I like it. Apparently they have taken a turn form their previous (which I can definitely recommend aswell) and have become more pop-orientated. I would normally not be a fan of this, but in this case I don't mind it. And... Continue reading

You could assume that London Calling is all about british bands, well that's not the case. not anymore at least. Still DMA's were by far the most britpop-like band scheduled in Paradiso. Think The Verve or Oasis. Clearly blowing the audience of their feet with their somewhat surprising stage presence.... Continue reading

Onfortunately, Arcade Fire's we exist didn't win an EMA. (What A Surprise) So I guess I'll just have to continue spreading the word about good, yet underappreciated music. Today, a band is returning with new material. A band I truly love. Dutch Uncles. Their math-like off-beat synth-pop is more intense... Continue reading

A nice adittion to the line-up of London Calling 14 was Gap Dream. And he definitely proved the audience a point. He proved that he can keep the attention of an audience across all of his tracks, without rushing things and showing variation. He was building the tracks brick by... Continue reading

There's a lot going on, on this stormy day. First off, Sleater-Kinney is back, with a LP on the way. So in honor of these Indie-greats, an older track by them in the Favorites playlist on the Youtube Channel. Furthermore, autumn makes me think back of summer, festivals and the... Continue reading

D.D Dumbo is an artist so original (he's playing solo, yes solo) that it is hard to compare him to anything else. I'm just getting an Alt-J feel, that's all I can say, which is a positive thing for sure. He is featured on London Calling within a few weeks.... Continue reading

I moved this weekend and I quickly realized one weekend of "Golden Oldies" on the radio is enough for me. So let's get back to some better music. I went to new Doornroosje almost two weeks ago. First gig, first day of the new building, I went to check out... Continue reading

A While ago I posted Pin Tweaks' material. and this sort of reminds me of that. Lots of echo, synth and strong lyrics. I'm talking about the new Dorsal Fins track 'Monday Tuesday'. Synthpop seems to be having its second youth. No complaints here. Especially when the songs have enough... Continue reading

After a few nice and intersting remixes by Lxury, now it's time for some "self-made material". And this EP released on GrecoRoman records has some interesting vibes to it. Lxury might be one of those great acts finishing off a festival day for the next few years. Lxury - Permanent... Continue reading
