Celtics pride returns....how I was so wrong about this team
While most fans right now are trying to pretend that December, January, February and March didn't exist, that they weren't calling for this team to be blown up like Hiroshima and that they "believed all along" I'll be one of the few to step up and say...I didn't. I DIDN'T believe in this team, ...

WinstonSalems great point on Baby...his performance or lack thereof last season was the dagger on this team. He played well all season long and then turtled when it counted.
On a different note, I have to disagree on JuJuan, I really see something in the kid, don't get me wrong he won't turn into KG but I could see him as a JJ Hickson. Ainges drafts haven't been as bad recently as they were before the Big Three when we really think about it.
First Big 3 year draft got us JR Giddens (turd) and Bill Walker (who I am still pissed that he was a part of the Nate Robinson deal as a throw in, giving up Eddie House for that waste of talent was enough of a pain for me but giving up young talented legs in Walker? Idiocy) Don't forget they also got Semih Erden out of the draft who really came up big for them last year, ya he won't amount to much in the NBA but he was a true blessing last year.
Second year Lester Hudson....gave the Celtics nothing but he's had some flashes of good play in Memphis
Last year Avery Bradley, no need to comment on that and Luke Harangody waste of life
This year JJJ and Moore....TBD on those guys Moore looks like he can produce, I'll wait to analyze JJJ until next year, we all thought Bradley was getting cut this offseason remember

dude I really dont give two steaming loads what youve done or if you like me or my writing or if you believe anything I've done, for all I care you can fall in an uncovered manhole and cease to exist. The reality is you are nobody to me, there are 19 other people that have commented on here and all contributed something to the piece and their opinion yet you are the only one that feels the need to bitch and moan at every article written and you contribute NOTHING, what are your credentials as a basketball fan again? What makes your opinion that much more valid? Oh thats right it isnt so do me a favor go play with yourself a little more and pound sand because I'll be honest with you if you wanna play hard I'll play ten times harder big shot. Try me
What if the Celtics lose...
Have we even considered this reality yet? I mean after all, the Celtics are supposed to win Saturday night aren't they? They are a much better team than the Sixers right? Is it me or is there minimal panic in Celtics Nation for what could be one of the biggest Game 7's in the Big Three era? Few...
Funny part is I know exactly who this is, the fact you don't approve of my articles only encourages me to write them more because reality is its someone thinking outside the box rather than like other blogs that just copy other peoples work.
Lastly, your grammar sucks, glad nobody has to read your crap

All fair points, Kareem has a far more impressive resume as a player than Bird did BUT he never did anything as a coach. West admittedly should have been in the discussion but I never realized he won an exec. of the year in MEM, I assumed he did in LA but to be honest that doesnt impress me, he stumbled onto Kobe and threw tons of cash at Shaq. Memphis however, winning that award in Memphis is pretty special, not going to lie, the gap may have gotten a little closer after hearing that.
However I have to say that while Bird hasnt won a ring yet in the front offices or sidelines, the fact is that he turned a mediocre Pacers team into an Eastern Conf. Champs, then rebuilt the team as a GM/Owner from scratch and they are now a legitimate power team in the conference, THAT combined with his success a a player is what inspired this article
Larry Bird... the most successful individual in basketball history?
With his crowning as the NBA's executive of the year for 2012, Larry Bird may have sealed his case as the basketballs most successful and influential individual in the history of the sport. Bird is without question one of the greatest players in the history of the league, but it is what he has...

Bass floundering under spotlight of playoffs

Im not going to even waste the internet space tearing your ass apart dude. I have more basketball knowledge in my left asscheek than you do in your entire body so go troll someone elses stuff cuz your not going to get to me im pretty secure in what I know

I'm a mediocre judge of talent? Bud you dont know me, you have no clue what my credentials are and how much ive studied not just the current NBA but the NBA over history. Ok he can shoot the ball name me one other thing that he does that makes you go WOW this guy was a STEAL...he hardly bangs it in the paint, his post game is non-existant and for a guy his size thats sickening. He doesn't hustle back on D which is why the Celtics are often caught with their pants down on fast break. Its wrong that Bass is usually lagging behind guys ten years older than him. And lastly he plays a hell of alot of 'Ole defense. You wanna say I don't know anything about basketball, say it all you want but you have NO clue how much of my life I've dedicated to the game and studying the game. You clearly only have an issue because Bass is your binky

I dont see why Bass is so beloved around here...he had a great start to the season, a poor middle part of the season and a 50/50 end to the season and has struggled in the playoffs so far. People seem to think he is this irreplaceable guy but lets be honest Orlando was willing to trade him for Baby, actually Orlando was willing to take in TWO headcases (Wafer and Baby) in exchange for Bass. He is a GREAT complimentary player but a starter? No way.... some team is going to offer him stupid money this offseason and Celtics fans are going to go insane when they don't match that offer because Celtics fans grow far too emotionally attached to mediocre players, reality is he's over achieved and cant live to those expectations anymore

That is the great part about this conference this year there is no clear cut favorite to in the conference. Each team has a weakness and there is a contender elsewhere in the conference that has the ability to exploit that weakness, it is going to make for an amazing set of games thats all I can say
Western Conference playoff preview
As the end of this crazy, compressed regular season comes to a close; what may turn out to be the most exciting postseason in recent memory is set to begin. Both conferences have clear cut favorites but each with a handful of question marks and potential upsets awaiting them. Unlike previous sea...

WOW!! Im loving the debate that this created with everyone! AS you will all learn I'm HUGE on basketball debates, especially historical debates. My stance on Ray Allen was that he does not go up there, but I think it was Danno that made the point that he was very bad in the 2008 playoffs, lets not forget other than the Bulls series he was really bad in the Orlando series in 2009, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong here) that he was mediocre in the 2010 stretch until they got to the finals, he had that big burst against LA where he broke the record for most threes in a half, and then struggled the rest of the series due to a thigh injury. Lets be honest, his playoff performances have not been that great since coming to Boston. He's been spotty at best, his highs are VERY high but his lows are really painful to endure when in the playoffs.
I will say this and agree with many of you on this point though, if the Celtics retire #34 and #5 they almost HAVE to retire #20 because that would really burn some serious bridges.
Also to address the point about the celtics running out of numbers. I think we will eventually see the Celtics go the way of other teams, retiring that individuals name/number into the rafters, a ring of honor in a way; eventually allowing that number to be reused.
Lastly to the individual that felt that it would be weird to see "Doc" up there, don't forget that Red, Walter Brown, and "Loscy" all have places in the rafters right now.
Thanks for all the great debate guys! Really enjoy it
As end of era looms, who belongs in the rafters?
