© Gemma Correll I'm more of a dog person myself, but since I'm a huge fan of Gemma Correll's work and it's Hug Your Cat Day (not a joke — click here if you don't believe me). I think you should stop everything you're doing and go hug your cat. Don't have one? Go find a nice cat, then give it a soft, humane squeeze. After that, click here for more funny cartoons from Gemma. Right meow! Continue reading

The image above is a photo of a famous painting called, The Treachery of Images by Belgian artist René Magritte, painted in 1928. The writing "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" translates to "This is not a pipe." Now, as you can see below, this piece has been fairly inspirational around GoComics. Check it out ... Savage Chickens by Doug Savage "This is not a halfpipe." GoComics Creative Director, Joel Friday "This is not a tattoo." Continue reading

Today is a very sad day for the Universal Uclick family. We are mourning the loss of a brilliant woman. The original "Dear Abby," Pauline Friedman Phillips, passed away at the age of 94 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She passed her advice column on to her daughter in 2000, and it continues to be the mostly widely syndicated column in the world. Rest in peace, Pauline "Dear Abby" Phillips. Your legacy will live on. Read our Press Release Continue reading

This Missouri gal is headed to the Big Apple! It will be my first time traveling for business. My feelings: anxious. But the good kind of anxious. I've never been to New York City before. I'll be there with three other GoComics colleagues and some pretty cool people from our sister company, Andrews McMeel Publishing. I'm grateful that I get to work for a company that does rad things, like, have booths on the floor of massive events like NYCC and SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con). Roughly 105,000 people attended NYCC last year and 126,000 people attended SDCC back in July; that's a lot of peeps. I can't wait to meet all 105k+ when you stop by the GoComics/Andrews McMeel booth (#821). (Wink!) Those who stop by our booth will be in for a treat. We've a got some great cartoonists lined up this year; here's a few: Bill Amend (FoxTrot), Mark Tatulli (Heart of the City and Lio) and The Oatmeal/Matt Inman (How To Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting To Kill You). So, if you're attending, please come by the booth. We have great things for you: comic collections available for purchase, free autographs and free comics! Yeah, FREE! You can see our full event schedule here. Can't make it NYCC? I'll be chronicling our journey through social media, so be sure you're following GoComics on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Instagram (username: GoComics). For fun, some of you may have already seen this, but here's a tiny peek of our GoComics/Andrews McMeel booth backdrop: Come see us, NYCCers! Continue reading

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding Richard Thompson's decision to end his heartwarming and beautifully drawn strip, Cul de Sac. We're all experiencing some sadness here at GoComics, but we're going to channel that into something positive. We're focusing on raising money to honor our beloved creator. GET INVOLVED! Let's raise money for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. You can help by donating to Team Cul de Sac. His comic, Cul de Sac, has been endorsed by Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson--high praise indeed. In 2009, Thompson announced his diagnosis of early-onset Parkinson's Disease. Some of the most respected cartoonists & artists of today have come together for the book "Team Cul De Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson's" to honor Thompson, including Watterson, Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury), Stephan Pastis (Pearls Before Swine), Matt Wuerker (Politico), Pat Oliphant, and more than 150 others. Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease - a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. In the United States, 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure for Parkinson's disease. I'm definitely donating! Will you? DONATE NOW! Continue reading

Do you like to laugh? Are you on Twitter, or know anything about Twitter? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then I highly suggest subscribing to Twaggies. What the heck is Twaggies? Allow me to explain: It's the first-ever crowd-sourced web comic that turns humorous tweets into hilarious illustrations. The art is fantastic and multiple cartoonists contribute. These cartoons feature tweets from celebs to everyday tweeps like you! Check out a few of my recent faves below: Do you think your tweets are funny, or know someone comical on Twitter? If you answered "yes" again, then submit a tweet to Team Twaggies! Who knows? You might see it as a cartoon on GoComics one day... -LE Continue reading

The Olympics will come to a bittersweet end this weekend, and I've come to realize that sports fan or not, the Olympic Games can suck anyone in. I personally belong to the non-sports-fan group, but find myself glued to the TV during the Olympics. I'm sure some of you out there can relate. There's just something special about watching all of these countries together in one place, with one thing on their minds: winning games, not war. It's especially fun to see our cartoonists get in on the action, too. We try to find a little humor in everything here at GoComics, check out these Olympic-themed comics from over the years: Dilbert 7/26/94 FoxTrot 7/27/96 FoxTrot 8/6/00 Real Life Adventures 8/21/04 The Argyle Sweater 12/13/08 In the Bleachers 08/26/08 Peace, Lindsay Continue reading
