I'm super excited to be learning about Psychosomatic pain! I've had weird illness, pain and even injuries all of my life. Some of this is attributed to being an empath and taking on other's pain but now that I've gotten a handle on my out of control empath side, there... Continue reading

There is a person in my life that I have an "up and down" type of relationship with. I am not willing to divulge this person's name or other details for privacy reasons. It's not actually that important to this story anyway. For our current purposes, we'll call this person... Continue reading

Somehow right as she's taking her last breath, I swoop in and shake her, slap her face and plead for her to stay a little longer. Even though I've grown to hate her, I can't imagine living without her. If she dies and leaves me, who am I? ...if I continue to hold onto her, I'll continue to stop myself from moving forward. In other words, if she lives I won't be able to. Continue reading

I've been stuck lately. If you follow my blog you've probably gleaned that from my lack of consistent writing for the last, oh say, several years. Or have I ever really been consistent? Hmm... once again, I digress. The truth of the matter is that I've been a bit "frozen"... Continue reading

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist." - Oscar Wilde. After a life altering event, we often say, "Life is short," or we post, "life goes on quotes," on facebook but are we taking steps to live life to its fullest after this reflection... Continue reading

If you've attended any of my classes, events, in-person sessions or maybe just know me casually it's quite possible that you've heard me say, "I believe that everyone should be assigned a good therapist at birth. As soon you enter the world she can be there to say, 'I know... Continue reading

MASTERING BALANCE As some of you may know, I have been working hard on the "back-end" of my business. To me, that means revamping my websites, building two more (maybe three), laying down a plan so I have more consistency in my blogging and vlogging. I can hear some of... Continue reading

Deb's Note: As some of you may know, I started a somewhat silly instagram account as a "playground" of sorts as I start a journey of losing weight and getting fit. I did this on a whim and with zero real expectation other than the fact that I could post... Continue reading

Well, hello there. I must confess, I don't always keep up with the "marketing" portion of my businesses but when I do... I add old interviews to my website. I've run across this 2013 interview with Tom Becca recently and thought I would share! Listen in or not...it's your call.... Continue reading

Re-post: Originally posted on A Slap in the Face for the Soul Blog (no longer available) Anger management is not always the answer. Does it help in the moment when you’re about to jump over the counter and strangle the Walmart cashier because she was using you as her therapist?... Continue reading

Re-post: Originally posted on A Slap in the Face for the Soul Blog (no longer available) Yes, I aid people in enhancing their lives. But I find that when people are trying to improve themselves I'm fighting to help them to love who they already are. It's quite the battle... Continue reading

Re-post: Originally posted on A Slap in the Face for the Soul Blog (no longer available) You heard me right. Positive thinking doesn't work; at least not in the way that that you've been told to exercise it. THINK IT AWAY Becky is in a marriage that is oppressive. Her... Continue reading

It feels like a 100 years since we’ve connected! If you’ve read my other posts you know that I’ve been dealing with herniated, compacted and degenerative discs in my upper and lower spine for 27 years (this February). I received these because of a bad crash in which I rolled... Continue reading

All of us have had an argument at one time or another. Maybe someone hurt your feelings. It could have started over socks lying on the floor. Your significant other could have kept you waiting for too long. Arguments start for an infinite number of reasons. But, no matter how... Continue reading

You know that little voice in your head that talks back to you? The one that tells you that you're wrong or you should "do this" or "do that". Most of the time I have control over mine. Well, not control really but more like a healthy dose of ignoring... Continue reading

The last we “spoke” I had been laid up with back issues for 13 days. At that time, I was seeing some improvement in pain levels and looking forward to getting back to work and my routine. I started making plans to kayak with fun people and take long leaf... Continue reading

For the last 13 days I have been laying in one spot staring up at my beautiful ceiling fan. I was in a bad car accident when I was 17. Although I survived, I now deal with a herniated disk which goes into spasm with little to no warning. Living... Continue reading

I lay beside an open bottle of pills that were strewn out all over the cold bathroom floor; waiting for my so called friends to find my lifeless body. Even though it felt like an eternity, just moments before, I walked in on my best friend locking lips with my... Continue reading
