On Thursday we had our morphology scan and found out it's another boy. I'd put all Nathaniel's clothes in storage a while back, just in case (but thinking we would be lucky to have another child, let alone a boy). So when we found out we were pregnant I thought... Continue reading

Wasn't feeling very well today so I only got to one op-shop instead of doing the rounds of my favourites. So I went to the one where I tend to find good baby/toddler clothes. There wasn't much in the size 1-2 rack for boys, but I did manage to find... Continue reading

Went to a couple of my favourite op-shops this morning and managed to get a few small things. Books - $1.50 for the set of five and 40c for the giraffe. He likes giraffes. Jigsaw puzzle - $2. So cute. I think I'll put this away until he is more... Continue reading

I've been meaning to post some recent finds, but with going back to work full-time and other stuff occupying my evenings, I haven't had time. As well as op-shopping, one of my other favourite places to look for second-hand items is car-boot sales. I used to go the Marion one... Continue reading

Thanks Blossom. Not too old - otherwise I'd feel a bit guilty taking it out of the packaging.

I can't find any information about Dougie on the net, if anyone knows what year this came out, please let me know. At $10 I pondered whether to get it. Hopefully with some fresh batteries it works. Though I'm tempted to not open it at all. Going by Dougie's face,... Continue reading

Quickly popped in to an op-shop I regularly visit and found this little gem for $3. A quick google tells me it was first produced in 1966. The rocking horse model (#165) was produced up until 1985, though looking at it, this would be one of the older versions of... Continue reading

As you would know from previous posts I'm a 'comper'. A person that enters competitions. I love entering competitions - what person wouldn't like getting stuff for free (or minimal cost). So as a result, when family or friends hear of my wins, quite often they'll say "You're so lucky".... Continue reading

Last night's dinner. I'm not a big fan of avocado, but I thought this looked good, and I liked that it was baked not fried, so I decided to give it a try. It was very easy to prepare, I followed the recipe exactly and it came out great. I've... Continue reading

Given I'm out of work at the moment and money is tight, very tight, I'm trying to cook meals with ingredients that I already have in the cupboard, so I don't have to buy much. I had most of the stuff to cook this last night, except the parsley which... Continue reading

A couple of weeks ago I bought a donna hay baking mix (for a competition to win a baking set - and I was lucky enough to win). So Adam decided to have a go at baking them today. I've never attempted brownies myself, nor do I attempt that much... Continue reading

My little man turned 15 months today. Tee - Sprout, bought on sale at Myer when he was only a few months old. Back then I was naive and bought a few white things in bigger sizes. Shoes - Betts Airflex. $49.99!!! argh, kills me how expensive his shoes are,... Continue reading

He's 15 months today! Sometimes when he's playing I'll just sit and look at him and it seems unreal that he is here and is ours. I can't remember being pregnant or having him, it seems so long ago. Time really is flying. I do like having a toddler better than a newborn though. Newborns are small and cute, but it's definitely more fun as he gets older and more inquisitive and adventurous.

I'm on Pinterest but I hardly ever use it. Just another thing to keep my preoccupied on the internet. Too many things to look at some times. I still quite like using Flickr to find stuff, but Pinterest does have some great photos.
I don't really have many other hobbies (besides Blythe), and I'm not very crafty, so this is very simple for me to do. Though I do wish I had a way with words and was good with the 25 words or less competitions. Yes I've won some good stuff to keep and to sell. Most handy things have been the vespa which we sold and went towards having Nathaniel, and our new fridge a few months ago. We so desperately needed a new, bigger one. So not having to pay $2K for one was awesome. I also like winning stuff to giveaway to family and friends.
Yes, I've started a blog. Not sure how long it will last, don't have a lot of interesting things to say! Especially considering you have to pay for Typepad, but out of the various places to start a blog, I liked this one and found it easy to use. Haven't had much time to spend on here, so busy at the moment with job hunting and writing job applications, very time consuming (and I feel a bit guilty doing other stuff when I should be doing that). I also try to get a bit of comping in, as I see that as a source of income, which is important at the moment being out of work. I'm thinking of putting my Frankie mags on ebay.

Tee - Thomas the Tank, Target, on clearance for $7.88 Shorts - Target I didn't really want Nathaniel getting into Thomas or anything like that (mainly because of the commercial side of it), but he likes what he likes. And he gets very excited when he sees Thomas, so I... Continue reading

I wanted to go to a few op-shops today to look for some more books for Nathaniel. He does have a lot of board books, but he is really into books at the moment, and I think all the reading and saying the words over is helping his speech as... Continue reading
