I hate white tails. I hope the jumping spider eats a lot more of them.

I used my 18-200 lens almost exclusively on my recent trip to Europe. It covers nearly all situations.

Vindaloo might crush the horrible rotting vegetable taste, but I wouldn't count on it.

On 17 February 2018 I upgraded my score for this brilliant whisky from 88 to 90.
I was very excited when I came across a single malt that had been finished in a chardonnay cask. I thought this would be fantastic: the combination of my favourite spirit with my favourite white wine variety. I also thought this would be a wonderful treat for Python, my fellow... Continue reading

Time for the tasting of a second single malt. I've chosen a big bad 21 year old bottled at 48% alcohol. The Glendronach 21 Year Old Parliament Single Malt. As the bottling notes below record, "parliament" has nothing to do with politics and refers to a parliament of rooks. Bottling... Continue reading

Scotch and Tequilla should not be mentioned in the same breath. But you should bring Butch's Tequilla to my office and we can post ourselves drinking it (very briefy, before I open the single malt in Charddy casks).
My recent trip to Edinburgh resulted in a total conversion from blended whiskies to single malts. Previously I was a Johnnie Gold man. It's single malts only now. I propose to try a range of single malts to find the best for the next boys weekend. Maybe 2 or 3... Continue reading

He is also giving the plants everything they want. He needs to learn to say no. He needs to set boundaries. Otherwise he will get nothing but grief.

He was certainly a lot thinner then, although hair loss had commenced.

We don't actually PLAY anything. We set up the map and all the counters, and then just look at it while Thygo takes photographs of spiders.
I'm up for it even though the table is too narrow for a map.
What are these, and why are they special? Continue reading

Jos wanted a meat pie cake for her 21st birthday so she got one. She also wanted a normal birthday cake that was coloured "teal". She got this as well. Continue reading

Of course Mr and Mrs Galah is a highly offensive comment and completely unacceptable from a QGLTBUXYZ perspective.

There are never any insects around when you want them. I was mucking around trying to get close ups with my 18-200 mm. Not bad shots, but not macro. Continue reading

Nice photos but I don't like the look of the white and black pattern. My primordial instinct is tellingy me poisonous. I think I would have squashed it afterwards, or fed it to the birds.

On Saturday morning I had a nice dawn walk after missing out for a few weeks because of never ending rain. I took the Nikkor 18-200mm lens which is my general purpose walk around lens. My intention was to capture birds in flight, which is always difficult, especially with bad... Continue reading

Sunday afternoon, and time to test run my new biggest lens on my D7200. The Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD. Bought on ebay for less than half the new price. Arrived in excellent condition. Thygo has already named this lens Big Bertha. After carrying this around for 10... Continue reading
