Jos wanted a meat pie cake for her 21st birthday so she got one. She also wanted a normal birthday cake that was coloured "teal". She got this as well. Continue reading

You have way too much spare time to wargame. Lucky you.

Of course Mr and Mrs Galah is a highly offensive comment and completely unacceptable from a QGLTBUXYZ perspective.

The close ups are just crops. All hand held.

There are never any insects around when you want them. I was mucking around trying to get close ups with my 18-200 mm. Not bad shots, but not macro. Continue reading

Nice photos but I don't like the look of the white and black pattern. My primordial instinct is tellingy me poisonous. I think I would have squashed it afterwards, or fed it to the birds.

On Saturday morning I had a nice dawn walk after missing out for a few weeks because of never ending rain. I took the Nikkor 18-200mm lens which is my general purpose walk around lens. My intention was to capture birds in flight, which is always difficult, especially with bad... Continue reading

Sunday afternoon, and time to test run my new biggest lens on my D7200. The Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD. Bought on ebay for less than half the new price. Arrived in excellent condition. Thygo has already named this lens Big Bertha. After carrying this around for 10... Continue reading

Nice photos. I liked the sunset as well. Not many capital cities have big wildlife like kangaroos wandering around a few minutes from home. The roo looks very interested in you.

I took number 3 daughter horse riding at Badgery's Creek, and it was a good chance to play with my camera and some of the new lenses. Just my luck, it was a grey and wet day. It's weeks since I had my camera in bright sunshine. The trusty 70-300... Continue reading

I really need to get into ATG. You and Python are both suffering too much.
Very nice photos. I like the background colour.

Paul has been very happy playing with his new lenses, both of which appear to be superior to the kit lens. 70-300 mm The new zoom is awesome, especially after Thygo taught me how to track the focus. Once again I can get decent shots of aeroplanes, in this case... Continue reading

I prefer the water with the fast exposure. Any shot were the blue sky becomes white is white out to me. This was my big gripe with the Panasonic FZ1000. Taking shots out from the shade, with close objects in the shade, out into bright light are extremely difficult. I only like the 3rd and 5th shots where the sky is blue, even though the tables are dark.I just haaaate white sky.

What if you got a very old dog who was happy enough to sit lie around all day while you're at work.
