Glaxo Smith Kline, one of the leading scientific research facilities in the United States, has numerous scholarships and conferences offered to high school and college students. The Women in Science Scholars scholarship program is offered women who are science majors and are interested in pursuing research as a career. This program is offered for colleges in North Carolina, and only two to three women are selected per school. If chosen, the recipient not only receives a decent sized scholarship, but they also are given a mentor to provide knowledge about research science, the scientific community and even opportunities for internships....
