Ever notice how there seems to be more money, more information, more technology... More ability to do, know and communicate. More of everything, including dissatisfaction. More is a pretty strong narrative. Society as we know it today has been built upon getting more. Unfortunately the story of needing to bring... Continue reading

Thanks. ... The Olympus camera is pretty darn good for point and click, and nature is a flattering subject to photograph. If the photo is too under or over exposed I play with the light settings. Other than that just show up and capture what the morning provides.

Ask people what they'd need in life to be happy and the general response is more money. Apparently being independently wealthy seems to be the path to happiness. But how long should we postpone happiness in the pursuit of gaining wealthiness? Wealth can be infinite, and it's relative. Happiness is... Continue reading

Great blog Simon, thanks Mate.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it. Disclaimer: The blurry photo was simply capitalising on a fortunate stuff-up.

The ancient Egyptian view on life was deeply influenced by their detailed knowledge of ongoing cycles in the cosmos. They saw the disappearance and re-emergence of the stars and sun passing across the sky as a constant cycle of retreat and rebirth. Drawing parallels between their own earthly existence and... I never understood why people still go to art galleries now that you can view the very same images on the internet. I mean, what's the point, it's not like you can touch the paintings... Another short fill-in blog this morning. Gorgeous morning and 22.2 degrees in the water. Unfortunately,... Continue reading

The sky is the limit, We are all deeply flawed. Learn to get over it, And notice how you soar. That's enough to keep most of us busy for the week, or a lifetime. (Click on the photos to expand... Oh, and read the note at the end about the... Continue reading

... If you were tasked with drinking the ocean dry, that's how you'd do it. If you tasked yourself with creating a safe, enjoyable BnB swim for the uncommon hour of 6:30am, you'd do what our mate Andrew Drinkwater does. Turn up every morning with a she'll-be-right-smile, gather your group... Continue reading

Carrying this blog camera seems like it really slows me down on the swim. Ok, the drag is minimal, but it’s noticeable. Maybe because less is more when you’re out here swimming. We over complicate life with things, with needs and hyper-rationalised concepts. All redundant layers of paraphernalia to keep... Continue reading

You know in that 1940’s movie Pinocchio, how the puppet has to dive into the ocean and face his unspeakable fear of Monstro so he can rescue Mr Geppetto, the one who’s single wish is for Pinocchio to live a real life? And how after Pinocchio dives in and chokes... Continue reading

BnB Lovelies, The Monday blog tag team (Simon and myself) won't be around next Monday the 14th. So the coveted 'Blog that Builds the Week' is open for a cameo appearance. If you're keen to step in for a moment of glory, please forward your prior works of literary genius to Simon and myself for approval. Or better yet simply post here that you are keen to do it and we'll let you fight it out among yourselves. Cheers. And yes, the temp today was warmer than 18.8... More like 19.8.

Constantly shifting, shaped by its surrounding environment, the beach is a solid snapshot of its fluid influences. Flattened by storms, sculpted in winds of change, then softy rebuilt by summer’s gentle swell. With each grain a story of how it has come to be. To the well studied eye, it’s... Continue reading

By the time we comprehend an image of the ocean’s surface it has already changed and what we are reflecting upon is not what is, but what was. Some say that reality is an eternal and changeless truth. Others insist that the only truth in reality is change itself. Perhaps... Continue reading
