As I reflect on the semester that has seemed to come in gone in the blink of an eye, there are a few key points of the project that I have advice for. One is time management. This is something that I mastered in undergrad which helped me succeed in this project with less frustration than I expected. I believe this is because our group hit the ground running from the very beginning. Although this was not 100% by choice as we were told during our first capstone class who are group/client was along with the fact that we would... Continue reading

This is the position I believe we are in with our capstone right now. I feel like we are DAAP students during our final product week in a rush to product the best final product which would be our dense deck. We did have another meeting with Uttam last week where we made some important decisions. He also wanted us to conduct a last round of the primary research phase that will aid us in building our funnel of opportunity for the product. We also found out that his products were delayed longer and will not be available until mid... Continue reading

This is it. This is the final few weeks of our capstone project. Last week we had our second update meeting with Drew and confirmed that we were in fact on track to finish the project on time, and with success. We do have another meeting with Uttam coming up this week, actually tomorrow which will guide us in our final steps to success in this course. Uttam must decide if he wishes for us to execute on our original goal of launching the product in the market or to perform more research on other possible target markets for the... Continue reading

It is unbelievable that it is already near the end of March and only 5 more weeks left in this semester. Last week was Spring break so I do not think we were able to get as much done as well wanted as some of us were traveling out of the country, and others needed this week to catch up on all of our other classes. However, just before break we had a great meeting with Uttam where we presented all of our findings thus far including our secondary research from various resources and primary research in the form of... The moments of truth are upon us very quickly as well will soon be judged on all of our work done thus far. Our team has a unique situation compared to most capstones and that is our end goal is to launch the product into the marketplace. We have set up a meeting with Uttam for this Tuesday to go over all of the information we have gathered so far along with our recommendations for launch. With only 6 weeks left in the semester, it is time to kick it into full gear with our project. I am currently feeling... Continue reading

Last week in class our team used the butterfly effect to see how we could solve the issue of our (lack of) experience in launching a product. One solution we came up with is to use the blog as a way we could all share our past experiences or ways in which we could help other teams. Below I will list out some of my experience that may be helpful to someone in the class. Marketing Research: planning, conducting, analyzing (tools such as questionnaire development, Qualtrics, Mechanical Turk, SPSS, Excel) Direct Sales Industry (business model and marketing) Social Media Marketing... "Woahhh we're livin' on a prayer" These lyrics seem to describe my feelings towards the Capstone project as of right now. We are halfway there! Which means if we have survived thus far, all we have to do in survive the same amount of time going forward and we will make it! Anyway, this past week we met with Uttam to go over some of our progress so far and to update him on some of the insights we have gathered thus far. We also finally launched our survey for college students! We are about 60% done with collecting the... Continue reading

It is crazy to me that we are already in week 6 of the semester. It feels as though we just began capstone yesterday and next week will be the halfway mark. In any regard, I am still feeling good about our progress with the project this week. We got together a couple of times to make more decisions about the future of the project, we had our first check in with Drew, and we developed our survey that we have plans to launch in the next day or two. Our team also has plans to meet at least twice... Continue reading

It is hard to believe that it is already time for another blog. Time seems to be pressed on fast forward and has no intention of slowing down. I am feeling comfortable with where the team is at so far. We finished the charter last week, completed our secondary research, and began some of our primary research. Which means we have completed the “easy phase” of our research process and will now be getting into the nitty gritty which is always about as clear as mud. I know that this phase will in fact take a little “elbow grease” to... Continue reading

All too often people complain about how fast life it passing them by. In today’s world we are all spreading ourselves so thin when it comes to time. We are constantly signing up for one thing after another. A lot of these things are contributed to work/school/professional career and less and less of our time is being use for “unplugging” ourselves from our responsibilities (quite literally). In the last post I mentioned that I was a little nervous about time management because of my new job, full class load, and capstone project. This indeed is still a major fear of... Continue reading

The first two weeks of our capstone journey have already came and went of course with great speed. The first two weeks brought a slew of emotions for me. First, I was extremely excited to be placed with the P&G client because the company has a lot of amazing products that I have grown up using. Upon the initial client meeting, the excitement grew, but so did the anxiety. After speaking with Uttam and Kristen about the scope of the projects at hand and choosing which ones we would like to take on, it became apparent that this project would... Continue reading
