Overall we had a solid first game. Fhyrie threw a no-hitter through 5 completely overpowering the Puerto Rico hitters. Our hitters swung the bat well and with some luck could have scored another 6 runs easy. The goal is to qualify for the finals on Sunday so the top four teams can playoff for the championship. Felt good to have some AB's (it had been over 4 or 5 years since my last at bat.) Ended up 2 for 5 with a 2B and 3B. Legs held up as did my back which has been stiff for the last three... Continue »

[[This is part of my no new clothes in 2010 resolution.]] I've finished my first full, wear-outside-the-house garment: the orange dress. The genesis of this dress was during another outing with my friend Mena. We went to an estate sale that was pretty much a bust, but I did pick up one pattern for about 50 cents. After the sale, we stopped by Stone Mountain & Daughter Fabrics and I bought 1 7/8 yards of orange stretch corduroy at $5.99 a yard.
