get rid of herm. he performs with no energy, no instinct, no genuine enjoyment for playing. he never smiles and always looks behind. i have never seen a player get thrown out on the bases as much as herm does.
Hermida sitting again; Sanchez looking sharp in rehab start
True to his word Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez sat struggling right fielder Jeremy Hermida for the second straight game and third in the last four, based on pitching matchups. Gonzalez intimated Friday that Hermida needs to put together some "quality at bats,'' before he returns to his starting...
how's philly treating you
Phillies Old Timers Night
The Phillies had another emotional pregame ceremony Saturday night as they introduced the greatest players in franchise history as part of Alumni Night, this a day after they inducted Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas into their Wall of Fame. It was neat to see Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez ...
awesome baseball reference.
Sizing up the small stuff
OK, no problem here waiting on Lamar Odom. That, after all, could trigger Carlos Boozer and other seismic moves by the Heat. The patience with the big picture is understandable. But, as the Heat waits, the small stuff tends to get overlooked, just as was th...
MY QUESTION on JUNE 6
@JCRMarlinsbeat Juan, i did a quick check on fish rankings of stats (runs scored, ERA, & fielding percentage). too soon to judge team?
YOUR RESPONSE
JCRMarlinsbeat@aaron0505 Nope, not too early. 57 games is plenty. Judge away.
Florida Marlins: First things first
Be honest now, how many of you a month ago thought the Marlins had even a remote chance of being in first place come Fourth of July? I certainly didn't, but lo and behold the Marlins open play this weekend in a virtual tie for first with the Phillies atop the National League East. The Marlins ha...
ALLEN IVERSON must understand what he is at this point in his career. Does he choose money/stardom or seek a ring/role player??? http://lostinsports.blogspot.com/2009/04/excuses-for-why-there-is-no-answer.html
Allen Iverson a later-rather-than-now issue for Heat
To a degree, an Allen Iverson-Heat marriage makes sense. For years, Pat Riley has run a last-chance saloon. But it's not going to happen the first week of free-agent negotiations. It's not going to happen at the July 8 start of the free-agent signing period. ...
Like I said the other day, Hermida should be out. He hasn't done anything in order to keep his job. The inconsistencies are glaring, and the defense is far to shabby to allow his bat to return.
Insert Maybin @ the leadoff spot...
Maybin, CF
Coghlan, LF
Hanley, SS
Cantu, 1B
Uggla, 2B
Ross, RF
Baker, C
PITCHER SPOT 8th
Bonifacio, 3B
I love the LaRussa lineup with picher hitting 8th. It forces the issue sooner on the opposition.
Florida Marlins: What to do with Cameron Maybin?
Rhino, this one is in your wheelhouse. What should theMarlins do with Cameron Maybin? He went 3 for 4 Tuesday for Triple-A New Orleans, raising his batting average to .331 since his demotion. Over his last 10 games, Maybin is hitting at a .417 clip. The on-base percentage is .422. His .883 on-ba...
I agree with everything Juan said about Emilio. He is a game-changer whether it be good, or sometimes bad.
More of an issue in my opinion is Hermida. Brett Carroll looks better everytime I see him in the lineup. Let's get rid of this Jeremy while he's still worth something.
Can the Florida Marlins win with Emilio Bonifacio?
Before delving into the topic du jour, another great outing from Ricky Nolasco. He gave up two early runs then retired 20 of the last 21 batters he faced. Since returning from his demotion to Triple-A, Nolasco has not allowed more than two earned runs in five outings and has earned the 'W' in th...
i can't believe i am the only comment so far...Juan C, you are the man! LET'S GO FISH!!!
Cody Ross is really showing me something this year while getting to play everyday!
Travel to Tampa, show the Marlins some support, I'll be there on Sunday.
Florida Marlins: The numbers don't lie
The Marlins completed a three-game sweep of the Orioles to go 5-1 on the homestand and climb to remain half a game back of the second place Mets and close to within one of the first place Phillies. Some numbers to chew on... Since dropping to a season-low six games under .500 on May 23, the Marl...
Yea of course that would be exactly what he needs. Sort of like Old Man Skyhook working one-on-one with Andrew Bynum.
With Zo, the passion never wanes
With anyone else, it would have been considered a truly bizarre moment. But this is Alonzo Mourning, and that means passion never rests. So on a con...
Let's give Chris Quinn a chance!!! Hopefully he is taking the advice and working out with the Notre Dame corners!
The Magic DEFINITELY don't have a player remotely close to DWYANE WADE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Van Gundy left to draw on Heat's Finals days
Down 0-2 in these NBA Finals, Magic coach Stan Van Gundy is drawing upon a page from history that most assume he'd just as soon forget. Although a nominal "advisor" with the team at the time after stepping down earlier t...

ira you are so whitty sometimes!
Artest would be a welcomed addition to a team that lacked
"toughness."
We can kinda borrow him, like Lamar Odom.
Where does the future take Ron Artest?
That the Rockets even made it to Sunday's Game 7 against the Lakers is a lesson is perseverance. Then again, successfully surviving a season with Ron Artest is its own tale of resolve. But what next for the enigmatic forw...
