Kill the McGrady talk. we're offering the starting sf and 6th man for a guy who's basically not played in a year. That's madness. 1st round exit beats lottery Posted by: The Watcher (The blog is more divided than team) | January 19, 2010 at 05:05 PM Another who agrees is not that bad of a deal for the Rockets. I knew I wasnt going nuts.
Funny how must of us thought that perhaps it wouldnt be in the Rockets best ineterst to do the deal for TMac involving Udonis and QRich, but, Ira replied saying the Heat shouldnt do it. That means there are people who think it is a good deal for the Rockets. Just throwing that out there.
And at the very worst: Beasley = Anthony Randolph Chalmers = Khalid Reeves Wright = Rodney Carney
Dude nobody is going to give the Heat a 1st pick for Wright regardless of what any phony websites thinks...Its common sense
My interpretations of the players we have discussed. None who I think are winners: Beasley = Zach Randolph Chalmers = Lindsey Hunter (at the very best) Wright = Larry Hughes (at the very best)
Posted by: aeb1255 | January 19, 2010 at 04:13 PM A guy who averages 6 pts/4 reb for his career, in exchange for a likely lottery pick? Gee, that's a toughy. Posted by: Lord Hades | January 19, 2010 at 04:19 PM Dude who in their right mind would give the Heat a lottery pick for Dorrell...Like are you serious ? You criticize the TMac trade like its some sort of proposal that is off the wall and then you come up with trading Dorrell for a lottery pick ?
Are you talking about the same Lindsey Hunter who locked up on D-Wade earlier in his career? Lindsey Hunter wasn't a good player but he was lightyears ahead of anything Chalmers is/or is going to be. Posted by: Chris | January 19, 2010 at 04:17 PM Funny thing I got killed in this blog a year ago when I said at best he could become a Lindsey Hunter..A year later its turned completely. I like.
Dude you criticize my deal for McGrady and youre talking about trading Dorrell for a 1st round pick???...cmon man
Paying someone $22M to stay at home is an idiot in my book.
Houston gave the eventual champions the best shot of anyone last year. Unless the team is clearly in position to better themselves, Daryl Morey will be more than happy to let McGrady's ass rot at home. Posted by: Lord Hades | January 19, 2010 at 03:54 PM So you really dont think Haslem and QRich makes them better considering they dont have a legitimate 2 0r 3 off the bench and have Chucky Hayes at C...You think theyre better with McGrady at home ? Disagree. The cost is $4M Jones' contract who can be bought out at the end of the year for $1.2M...So the cost is $1.2M. I dont know, doesnt sound all that bad to me.
If you go strictly off Randolph's numbers then he is a borderline Hall of Famer...Please, not a winner and thats why hes not even remotely thought of as a HOF...Same with Al Harrington, Corey Maggette and that whole crew. Loooosers
Really havent heard much as far interests in McGrady...Actually the opposite. Maybe you have.
Do you remember Randolph in Portalnd...Not a winner Do you remember Randolph in NY...Not a winner Always had decent numbers, but no not a winner.
Remember, Houston has no leverage here. I agree the best thing Houston could is just hold on to him and let him expire, but at the same time instead of paying him $22M this year to sit, Im sure they could use Haslem (considering Hayes in playing Center) and they could use Qrich at the SG/SF off the bench. The trade off is Jones' contract.
Randolph is not a winner. Yes it was an insult. I place Randolph in that category of Al Harrington, Steve Francis, Gilbert Arenas, etc. Will never win anything, but yes can score the ball. Congrats.
Beasley = Zach Randolph Chalmers = Lindsey Hunter (at best)
Q. RICHARDSON U. HASLEM J. JONES FOR T. MCGRADY LETS DO IT. TMAC IS AN EXPIRING SO IF DOESNT WORK OUT NO BIG DEAL AND WE GET RID OFF JONES' CONTRACT. UDONIS AND QRICH ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO COME BACK NEXT YEAR FOR THE RIGHT PRICE SINCE THEY ARE ALSO EXPIRINGS. MAKES TOTAL SENSE. PG ALSTON SG WADE SF MCGRADY PF BEASLEY C O'NEAL GIVE IT A ROLL. NOT GOING ANYWHERE WITH QRICH AND UDONIS THIS YEAR ANYHOW

If I gave up Haslem, QRich and Jones, I would trade for TMac the player to see what happens. We know where were going right now, 1st round exit.

And as Ive stated in the past, the best case scenario for Chalmers' career is the following: Chalmers = Lindsey Hunter
Michael Beasley = Zach Randolph. One in the same.
