Does anyone know if they plan to release Eureka DVDs? So far, NetFlix (Canada) is not giving us Eureka and I'm not feeling interested in any shenanigans to circumvent the system. I'd happily pay for the disks if someone would offer them...
I really miss this place
I took this picture on one of the last days of production. Whenever I watch Eureka this season, and I see an advert on the network formerly known as Sci-Fi for one of their stupid goddamn are-you-serious-with-this-bullshit reality shows, I get angry and then sad. Eureka was and is such a g...
I'm geek girl excited about this weekend! I'm working my sister's food booth, so if you want to try some yummy, yummy, gluten-free food goodness, stop by The Onigiri Company (http://www.theonigiricompany.com/) and I'll pass over some "samples". :D Actually, everyone is welcome to stop for some amazing food, but I only give out free food to people who make my inner dialog go "SQUEEEEEE!!!!!"
My trip to Australia was amazeballs
I am home from Australia, and only mostly dead exhausted. Go me! I'm too tired for a proper post about the entire trip, but I'll offer a few memories and highlights: I did not meet a single unkind person the entire time I was in Australia. I realize that my sample size was quite small, but it wa...
I know all the "science people" in the crowd will have conniptions, but I swear by my homeopathic remedies for my allergies. I've had environmental and food allergies since I was a little kid and I've worked my way from Benadryl through all the newer drugs; now OTC anti-histamines have little to no effect on me. My remedies are mixed up particularly for my symptoms and work great. On a recent camping trip, with cottonwood trees shedding so much it looked like snow, my antihistamine-taking friends were sniffing and wheezing while I felt fine. Maybe it's hoodoo, maybe it's placebo - I don't really care anymore, since I can breath, my eyes aren't watering and I'm not tempted to take a veggie peeler to my skin!
As an added bonus, they cost about half of what antihistamines do!
this is really gross. you have been warned.
There is a tree near my house, that has probably been there for years, just doing its tree thing, watching patiently as families come and go, empires rise and fall, and Isengard is flooded. I'm sure it's a beautiful tree, cheerfully trading carbon dioxide for oxygen, providing shade, and most li...
Creepy yet yummy. As I was reading this, the ice cream truck music started playing over the PA at work! It's ice cream day (to celebrate the middle of the year.) Popsicles and Revel bars anyone?
i've got one more silver dollar
I'm taking a break from my online traffic school (shorter traffic school: Don't be a dick, and slow the fuck down). I got a ticket recently when I misunderstood some confusing lane lines in Burbank. I thought they were telling me I could turn right from the two right-most lanes, but the friendly...
I don't mind $11 for a book, but $7 shipping for an $11 book was a bit much. On the other hand, I can read my PDF copy RIGHT NOW!!! It's 3 days to Christmas, they can't expect me to actually work, can they?
Announcing The Day After and Other Stories
This is one of the scariest things I've ever done: I'm releasing a short collection of short fiction, called The Day After and Other Stories. Last year, I collected a few short stories I'd written and sold them as a chapbook at PAX. It was a scary thing for me to do, because while I feel confide...
