Oh, the fair, the fair. How we love it! Don't get me wrong — it has its share of knock-off sunglasses, hot tubs, monster trucks, greasy food, scary-looking ride operators (is there any other kind?), and it's usually hot-hot-hot. But... Continue reading

And everything in between. Cannon Beach, Oregon August 10, 2014. (The picture of Andy towering over the little people is just a weird optical illusion — the people are varying distances behind and around him, and I caught him mid-jump... Continue reading

At the end of a beautiful road lies the ocean. We wind through the fields and the forest while she sleeps. Ryan Adams, cinnamon buns, sunlight flashing through the trees. The road twists through the hills, dipping and bobbing. In... Continue reading

Suddenly, a scramble: how to fit everything else you want summer to be into four weeks. It's both long and short — I pine for chilly evenings, and feel panicked that the nights are already shorter, the darkness filling the... Continue reading

Even I, the woman with the highest tolerance in the world for listening to herself complain, got sick of hearing myself complain. I (finally) decided that if I couldn't beat 'em, I'd join 'em. At the river. It was a... Continue reading

In the dappled shade Amelia and I walk up and down the streets near our house. We're trying to stay in the shade; it's so hot, but we just have to get outside. She's in her stroller with her bare... Continue reading

It is unexpectedly (at least to me) pouring rain as I write this morning, and so dark in the house I can hardly see. Oh, sweet mercies!!! I'm sitting in the studio, looking out into the garden, which, in spite... Continue reading

Mid-July. Our seventeenth wedding anniversary is this weekend. Oh, sweet love! How can it be that it's been so long ago already? It feels like yesterday, and a million years ago at once. I am still, and frequently, gobsmacked that... Continue reading

It's been kind of a challenging week, and I don't even know why. I feel like I have a million things to say but no time to say them, here or in real life. I'm whirling and scattered, and trying... Continue reading

Already the plum leaves are starting to fall. The weather this past week has been hot and dry, and next week promises (threatens) more of the same. At the farmer's market the bounty is overwhelming. There is so much, and... Continue reading

I had a day out last week with my dear friend Aimee. We had lunch and then we shopped and then we sat by the fountain downtown and had milkshakes. I came home with a dolly umbrella stroller for Mimi,... Continue reading

Cooking, cooking. Once I started I just . . . kept going. For Midsummer Day we made the same breakfast we'd made for Father's Day (because that was good), and then I made a strawberry shortcake for dessert after dinner.... Continue reading

She would prefer to stay outside at all times. Around four o'clock, the time between (hopefully) nap time and before dinner time, she's lately letting out a plaintive scream: "'SIDE?!?!?!?!?!" and pointing toward either the front door or back door... Continue reading

You know, I was totally wondering about that! The back looked exactly the same at the “front” – that is, there were princess seams on it, too, but also a giant green zipper, which seemed like it should go in back. . . . But the “back” was also cut lower and seemed like the front! It was handmade so there wasn’t a tag on it, but now that you mention it I thought the same thing!!! :)

Homemade Meyer lemon ice cream, Andy's amazing barbeque-pulled pork sandwich, and this beautiful face: my sweetest of sweet-treats. Someone has been using her sippy cup (ocassionally) and eating (ocassionally) from a spoon! So proud! Oh, sweet darling. We always use... Continue reading

Typepad HTML Email Hi Christine, Yes, you do have to trace the design onto the fabric by hand – instructions for how to do that are included. We are trying to make more printed panels for the shop but I don’t have a date for when that will be available, as this pattern is several years old and we have some new things we need to finish first. Please join the mailing list at and I will let you know when the panels are ready, if you’re interested. Thank you! xo, alicia x x x o x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x A L I C I A P A U L S O N Posie: Patterns and Kits to Stitch by Alicia Paulson From: Typepad Sent: Monday, June 02, 2014 5:14 AM To: Subject: [Posie Gets Cozy] Christine submitted a comment to Daisychain ABCs Crewelwork Sampler Kit A new comment from “Christine” was received on the post “Daisychain ABCs Crewelwork Sampler Kit” of the blog “Posie Gets Cozy”.
