I may have oversold the greenhouse. It will be more of a green lean-to. The sign is supposed to distract from that. :)

Ill do a progress post on the dollhouse soon. It was so garish when I first bought it (pepto pink and cobalt blue) and I quickly gave the outside a few coats of white paint. The inside is a hot mess at the moment. I have an unabashed love of linens of all vintages. Some are old, some are new. I love them all equally. I wish some were heirlooms. I think I got my love of linens from my grandmother - she used to do a crocheted edge on all her pillow cases and we had a few when I was growing up. I loved it when they ended up on my bed. Oh how I wish I could crochet!

I think I've mentioned that I have a rescue doll house. I bought it off of Craigslist and the thing is enormous and in much need of restoration (mostly of the decorative kind). I haven't made much progress on it... Continue reading

Thank you! My Janome was giving me fits though. I almost called you in tears to help me troubleshoot. I finally kind of sorted it out. It would stop picking up the bobbin thread and I would have a mess underneath and it would snarl up my square. It would start doing that when the bobbin had about 1/4 of the thread left. My next project is a slip cover for my chaise lounge and the fabric was pricey. Cant afford for that to get messed up.

Oh congratulations on the impending arrival! What a great idea to just make an extra block. For my friends granddaughter I made her a quilt using vintage sheets and made a mini version for the doll bed. Im not much of a quilter (ha! Understatement if ever there was one...) but it turned out really cute, if I say so myself.

Oh I love this! None of my recipes are written in anyones hand but my own but I am a bit nostalgic for my 18 year old self. My mother kept a notebook where she would write down recipes and it is just a treasure. My sisters and I will be talking about something she would make and well bring out her notebook to see if it was copied down in her precise, meticulous handwriting. It still sits on her cookbook bookcase in my fathers house. I will hang on to my recipe for Cornflake Hay Stacks. Who knows? They could come back in style.
