I love a white Christmas too. I grew up in Northern BC and we always had one. The six years I spent in Vancouver, I think there was only ONE white Christmas. Here in the Okanagan, it's hit and miss. We don't get the snow you guys do, and the bulk of it usually comes in January. We often have at least a small dusting, which makes it feel more like Christmas.

And...I will be making Nanaimo bars this week.

Thanks for this, Karen. Our family is not getting the shot (we have our reasons), but I know many people who want to get it. I think each family needs to do what's best for them and you're right - everyone needs to calm down a bit. Some people are getting downright nasty in the debate about the vaccine, but you have written about it in a way that I truly respect. Thanks. :)

Oh, wow, Kami. That would be so hard for me! We have to drive the dudes to school. There's a bus...but I'm not quite ready to send them on the bus yet.

Matthew would LOVE to be a farmer.Me, not so much; I'm too lazy to work that hard ;) But the slower pace of life is a draw, which is why I love living out in the sticks. :)

So far, the only sports they are in is swimming...and soccer/baseball in the spring. They are also only 3, 5 and (almost 7). The years ahead are looking bleak.

Sigh. You know that I understand how you feel. I hope that your sweet little dude comes up with the courage to show everyone how amazing he is.

I'd let this house go to pot if it were up to me. It's Matthew who cracks the cleaning whip (and I let him).

Not TMI at all! I miscarried my very first pregnancy and had to have a D&C. I waited one cycle and then got pregnant with Graham :) I totally know the fears of losing again, but it will all work out in the end. I know it.

Oh, sweetie. I hear you on this, on so many levels. With my Dad, it's only surface. He's incapable of doing any more, and once I got to the point where I accepted it, it's been better. Ideal, no. Drama-free? Yes. Hope things get better for you two soon.

Oh, girl. I know all too well the issues about wanting to write but not wanting it to blow up in your face. (I"ve used Flickr a few times - none of my real life friends or family are "Friends on there.) I'm glad that you're turning a corner. Hugs to you.

Oh, Megan. My survived a house fire, so I have a glimmer of knowing what you went through, but we actually lost...nothing. Inconvenienced, yes, but not a complete loss. I absolutely love when you write about the hurricane because it helps me to put everything into perspective. Everything.

This was awesome to read. I have half-siblings whom I adore and I so totally get it. I'm happy that you're back together again.

I know I DM'd you the other day, but we went through this four years ago. If you ever need to talk to someone who knows exactly how you feel, I'm available. xoxo

Oy. (Channeling my inner Jew, apparently.) (Even though I'm not Jewish.) Can you tell her that you'll fill her in when she's 20?
