The time has come to say goodbye... Well, not exactly I just want to move to a more personable blog experience. Keeping with the theme of All Things Me, my new blog is entitled Anna Bee and can be found at http://fromoverthesea.blogspot.com/. I haven't written anything in it yet. But if you're a detective, you'll figure it out. I will probably return someday. Continue reading

he went away and you hung around and bothered me every night. and when i wouldn't go out with you, you said things that weren't very nice. Super happy, super snappy! Things I've done so far this summer include: * watched wildlife * hiked with my parents * cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday for a week (an amazing feat) * visited many of the top touristy attractions of my town (really fun!) * cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. * fixed up my backyard and made it look cute and sweet-like * ate an egg (yuck) * visited a meteor crater *... Lately I've been operating under this notion that I have to love myself before anyone else can love me, and I have to make myself happy before I can make anyone else happy. I love making things. Yes, I know that is not a very descriptive sentence, but it's true! Hats, blankets, paintings, pancakes, flower arrangements, cookies, paper, bagels, peanut sauce, earrings, keychains, salt and pepper shakers, short films, playdough, haircuts, jeans into shorts, slide shows, people laugh, comic strips, salad dressings, teriyaki tofu crumbles, etc, and the list goes on. These are all examples of things I love to... Continue reading

My first few weeks of summer have been pretty lazy. With all the family visitors coming for my brother's graduation, I was booted from my bedroom and made to sleep on the couch, the loveseat, an air mattress, and in mom's office, which I have since renamed "the spider room." Just when I was getting settled into my own bed, it's time for me to leave again. Good thing I never unpacked. I'm pretty worried about the rest of summer. For two months I'll be living alone, like alone alone. My first day of work is technically the 13th, and... Continue reading

On my way home from Las Vegas last week, I ran over a snake on the 93 and it curled up. There was nothing I could do! It was easily 3+ feet long, which meant it was probably really old and someone's grandpa. If I would have swerved either way, I still would have hit it because it was dead center in the road. Dead center, indeed. Oi, what a tragedy. My mom who was sleeping in the passenger seat woke up when I screamed "I ran over a snake and it curled up like a rubber band!" For the... Continue reading

This series of unfortunate events started a little after noon yesterday, when I had gathered my reading glasses, a cup of tea, and my dog, then scouted for a cozy spot in the midday sun to read the young readers book Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. I had to read this book as a part of a literature focus unit for my literacy block this semester. I had a small chunk left to read, and it would probably only take me an hour or so. My assignment was to design a kind of lesson plan involving a "reader's theater,"... Continue reading

to build a house, you start with the walls. then you add the door so you can let people in. but then you install a lock so they can't come in right away. then you make the inside nice with fluffy couches and chairs for your future guests and pets to sit on. then you make your bed because that's what you're supposed to do most times. then you go out into the backyard and make sure your dog knows that this is where you do your business, ok? then you unlock the doors and let people in. they'll try... The following was originally written in ink in a real life journal [with paper pages and everything] after I ran into a fella I used to date named Boring McOrdinary. do you know that feeling deep inside your body that feels like your heart or pancreas or liver, or some other vital organ drops way down to your feet? it's the same feeling you get when you think you see a child dart in front of your car when you're driving, or when you accidently hit "send" on a message you had no intention of sending. it's the feeling of... i'm perpetually trying to cheer myself up. in the rare occurrence that i'm in a good mood, i spend so much time concerned about why and how i'm in a good mood that it eventually dissipates. 20-something years of feelings and memories. i can't even fathom 8.7 weeks of music on my itunes. what happens in life is that things are awesome. the world is amazing. it's so convenient and unimaginable that it can't be real. the image of the world is just that, an image. what's below, or inside, or above, or sprinkled invisibly all around as atmosphere is... sometimes seemingly small events happening in close succession can add up to a lot of weight on my heart and brain at the end of the day. this pretty much sums it up. Will I have learned so very little When these bones are old and brittle? I wait to talk when I should listen And cloud mistakes with false revisions All my friends are forward-thinking Getting hitched and quitting drinking And I can feel them pulling away As I'm resigned to stay the same And you can't even begin to know How many times I've told myself "I told... There is this weird technology that exists in between being asleep and being awake. There might be a word and a definition for it, but it in no way describes what it's actually like. It is in this time that I have all my good ideas. It's a kind of technology that can be tricky because although I may have the greatest, arguably the best ideas i've ever had, I am not allowed to remember them. Last night I dreamed Simon Joyner was singing to me. We were in a small darkened room filled with things like books and clocks... Continue reading

a fast food vegan place sounds like such a great idea, maybe not the best execution. i hope they master their craft soon. when i started working nights at a fast food ice cream place i was equally shocked and disgusted. shocked at how rude people are to someone who is handling their food. and disgusted by the several hundred combinations of candy and toppings they have available, with the exception of strawberry or banana.

Trina! Ever since we talked about this a couple weeks ago I've been wanting to make it. Thanks so much for posting the recipe!
