Evelyn, thank you so much for reaching out on our blog. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing pain in the trapezius muscle. The pain can definitely be coming from your trapezius muscle, but it could also be from the levator scapulae or suboccipital muscles as well. Have you done anything different in your activities of daily living (for example, extra computer work, involved in a slip, fall/ car fender bender, slept incorrectly, extra time spent texting/on the phone) - any of these type of postures can really create a lot of tension in the neck and upper back. Thank Jose - Taking breaks when you are using your phone, iphones, ipads, computers is the key. Hard to do, but necessary. Otherwise we develop neck pain, and text neck.
