Archirent © is not just a brand. For me is part of my life: since 2003 I care through the web some tourist rentals in some of the most important sites of Italy. The core of this activity is my web site, where people who want to book short tourist stays find all the necessary information: prices, policy, availability calendars, details about the rented units, the booking request forms. The web site link is in my profile: click my name or my image. This blog is about my activity and all possible topics related to my places and their locations. Your comments are welcome. We, in Bologna, had an exceptional snow: 50 cm of snow covered the red town in a loudly silence...
no more cars, no more buses, the porticoes fulfilled by the snow ploughs, no more trains, airport closed. No more work at school, all appointments postponed ... only my soft cat, a good book, a coffee cup and a fully working heating machine. (you can see images in my Facebook page). Very strange atmosphere at my latitude.
And so this is winter........
text and images britt-arnhild It is good to be home. My own bed, my own breakfast table, my own husband, my own job. And I love it. There is one thing I don´t love though. Can you guess what? We came home to a world filled with snow. Snowdrops were blooming in the London parks. Snow, rea...
Through your photo I can sample the Christmas feeling which is coming. In every part of Europe it seems the same. It's a beautiful sensation!
December 15th. Filling the cake tins
Text and image Britt Arnhild Wigum Lindland I was met by a fantastic smell when I came home from work yesterday. Marta had started filling the Christmas cake tins, Terje had dinner ready, table set, candles lit. The leftovers he served tasted like a feast for kings and queens.
I suggest visiting the buttons museum, it seems a funny thing to do but it is really interesting, not a fake! Ciao Paolo
I can see the Eiffel Tower, now I know I am in Paris
The day started with a little bit of drama. The moment we arrived at the airport outside Trondheim I remembered - I had forgotten the keys to the flat where we were going to stay in Paris. The flat of my blogging friend Linda. What now? I phoned my father asking him if he could drive up to T...
No word to say how sad is all that!
Vandalism in the Cathedral Park
During the night between Saturday and Sunday people have visited the cathedral park for one purpose only. Vandalism. 29 stones are overturned. Some of them almost completely destroyed. It is unbelieveable. So sad! I walked through the park this morning. From my office window I see ...
"There is no sauce for dressing pasta you can't prepare in the time water needs to boil". Pasta is the real traditional italian fast-food. Believe me. Big food companies try to sell their prepared stuff invain in Italy.
and then I got a piece of warm bread with syrup on.....
I could hardly believe my eyes the other day. I was in the grocery store looking for rice and all I could find was packets with small readymade bags which would be ready boiled in a few minutes. I wanted "real rice", in cardboard boxes or in a woven net, not prepared artificially to be boiled ...
Geckos are lovely animals. They have to forgive me for having recently conquered their reign. I mean my Apulian trullo once was their reign and now after the restoration it is a strange white place with no more the characteristics of a safe shelter during the sunny days. Anyway sometimes they still use it and share it with humans. They tolerate humans without any problems. Just they hope humans tolerate them. And I do hope my guests tolerate them. My daughter left a small picture hanging into the trullo’s dome with a handwritten notice inviting people to appreciate the great work they do inside the house: they keep far mosquitoes and spiders, much better than Bygon. As soon as I take a photo of one of them I will present a better description of this lovely animal in my new-born blog “Archirent News”.
"It is very friendly......."
There is a small gekko living outside my bedroom. I have a phobia for spiders, gekkos and bats........and really don't like the gekko which is living outside my bedroom. He is the first one to greet me every morning, the last one to say good night in the evening, the gekko liv...
