Hey Wil, you talking about getting excited and making things again reminded me to show you something my friends and I got excited and made. It's an EP on that we recently uploaded to SoundCloud having recorded it earlier this year, our second one's going to be on iTunes in a couple weeks or so. This band's relevant to you Wil because you (and to a fairly major extent John Scalzi) inspired the name. For we are The Velvet Wesleys! Search us on Soundcloud, we also have a Facebook page, and Twitter account @Wesleysphere. Can't wait to know what you think!
Notes on the making of my Polymorph Porter
Monday night, I opened a bottle of the first porter I brewed. I took a picture for the Internets that looks something like this: (click image to embiggen at Imgur) It turned out much better than I expected, considering there was a near disaster when I brewed it. Read on if you want to hear a s...

My brain desperately wants to write some stories, so I've been digging through the pile of Ideas That Didn't Quite Make It to see if anything in there inspires me, or is at least worth dusting off and poking with a sharp stick. So far, two stories look promising, though one of them needs a fairl...
Just finished reading and donating, I absolutely loved it. Just like in Day After, your command of mood is fantastic, and your exposition is smooth and near seamless. I'm so glad you took a leap of faith, and put this great story out there. I'd also like to ask if you think Stephen King influences your writing? I've heard you cite On Writing before, and I think I can see some stylistic similarities between you and Mr. King.
Thanks for the Story
Props for the Prose

HUNTER is coming...
Check it out: A little excerpt from Hunter can be found in this post. Or you can keep reading here: Pyke chased the girl down a street still wet with the afternoon’s rainfall. A thin sliver of moon was glowing behind the thinning clouds, but it wasn’t bright enough to pierce the darkness betwe...
The Marvel Zombies series incredibly entertaining as well, number 5 just came out, and there is little as entertaining as seeing Howard The Duck gunning down the undead.
ZAP! POW! OOFF! ZOK! BIFF! A post about comics and TPBs.
A couple times a year, I have to go through all the comics and trades in my office and put them into long boxes that live in the attic. When I do this, I always end up pulling out a few trades that I want to read again, so now you know what I've spent most of my discretionary (note that I didn't...
The Chew series from Image is great. It's a very interesting take on a cop story, with some weird food-based super-powers. It's also completely hilarious.

The deleted scene James Cameron didn't show you.

This is crying out for a caption. I'll choose my favorite, and send something neat* to whoever writes it. Submissions open throughout the weekend, one per person, and can only be left as comments here (it's too difficult to track on Twitter or via e-mail). *definition of 'neat' will be at my s...
