That was thoroughly enjoyable, sir! I find it hard to get enough of (good) stories about dystopian futures. I'd be well pleased to read more in this setting! (I tried to calculate the amount to send in USD so that it would be an even amount for me here in New Zealand. Not that it's a compulsion. Nosiree.)

Happy Birthday, Andrew - a good editor -and friend- is worth his weight in a substance much more valuable than gold!

For $10 can I get sullen silence and shoe scuffing? It'd make me feel more at home.

Thanks... your opening sentence made me choke on the water I was drinking when I tried to laugh at the same time. To top that off I got to the imagined conversation and then proceeded to spray my monitor with the water I was sipping to soothe my throat! Bravo and well-played sir.

Having just picked up Old Man's War and having just read it in bed until I fell asleep with a book on my chest then having immediately scrambled for my page upon waking and finishing the book before getting out of bed... having done all that I am now very grateful that I read your review and subsequently read the book!

I happened to pass by Fell and Y: The Last Man at the local branch of the Auckland City Library and nabbed them both before anyone else could borrow them. Now I am going to be tracking down Fell for purchase! -grumbles about the cursed library enticing him to buy more books-

Top Ten is a good one, that's for sure. I particularly remember being impressed by the way that these super-powered police are normal"cops" in an every day precinct.

Wow. I used to keep up to date with the news and goings-on world-wide, but it's all too tempting to stick my head under a rock and pretend that stuff like this isn't happening. I'm reminded of just how fortunate I am to be living in New Zealand.

I got a good laugh out of that one, thank you!
